Fire The 2nd In Command! (Marek's Revenge TP)

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

RW Abbey: Great Hall

The Great Hall of Redwall Abbey. Countless paw falls have echoed from these stones, and untold numbers of feasts and merry gatherings have been held here. A table, not nearly so grand or large as its predecessors, but quite functional for mealtimes, rests near the center of the hall. Chairs exist here aplenty, and they are all of a matching set. High above, the stain glass windows give the Great Hall a beautiful appearance. The glasswork is exceptionally done, crafted by a skilled artist. The floor is clean and swept. A fire is kept burning in the fireplace at almost all times of the day and night, and there are several more comfortable chairs and cushions set up here, of varying sizes. One looks large enough to easily accommodate a badger.

The Tapestry that has for so long hung here in the Great Hall, the very heart of the Abbey, its greatest treasure is currently missing. Spirited away sometime during Marek's attack on the Abbey and rumour has it only the Abbot knows where it is.

Marek is already in the room, eating some scones.

Hudson walks into the room and right away sits down in a chair and his foot paws up on the table.

Marek looks over at Hudson, "Are you cozy Mr. Hudson? I trust your keeping things in order."

Hudson looks bored but does answer "As well as I can, you know things be a lot better if certain beast were not around, some of the beasts not listening to ya rules too well Marek, should they not be punished?"

Marek gets a scone off a plate and eats it before he answers "Yes they should be. Rules do need followed or one does not have order and order is needed in my new base"

Hudson nods "Yes, yes new base, you should place them in chains these..woodlanders, set an example to them, kill a couple leaders make then obey"

Marek folds his arms over his chest "Yes they need to obey but you slay certain beasts you just anger them and angry beasts do not obey me, they want to rebel"

Hudson narrows his eyes some as he listens, its clear he rather kill some beasts than not kill some beasts." You place more fear in them I say"

Marek chuckles "Beasts fear me already Mr. Hudson"

Hudson seems to be listening "If you say so...sir" It also seems to rather not listen to Marek.

Marek watches Hudson "Yes I do say so"

Hudson stands up slowly and folds his paws behind him back "I am your 2nd in command sir, I do know what’s best and how to further get them to listen, yeah yeah some do. others don’t"

Marek says, "Just remember my rules Mr. Hudson and make sure the Redwallers do as well, see I have rules for the horde beasts as well."

In walks Stormbreeze and sighs as she sits in a chair nearby.

Hudson listens, somewhat and glances at Stormbreeze and nods "Hello dear, feeling better I hope"

Marek nods to Stormbreeze.

Stormbreeze says, "Am I disturbing a meeting, if so I can leave"

Hudson nods "Yes you are now go dismissed"

Stormbreeze frowns but leaves as she is asked to do.

Marek watches as the wildcat heads off and looks back to Hudson, "I am the only one that can tell one to go or not, do remember that Mr. Hudson"

Hudson nods "But I can when you’re not around"

Marek watches Hudson "Something on your mind?"

Hudson hmms "Oh nothing sir, just some things to not worry on, still think some rules do need better enforced"

Marek nods "Yes and I will deal with that Mr. Hudson, no need to worry yourself, I have things in perfect control"

Hudson folds his arms over his chest, "Oh? Not all beasts are in control here, and if you allow it I know ways to control them"

Donald enters the cavern hole, waving to Hudson and the other creature. "Ello, Hudsy. Ello, other vermin."

Marek says, "Fine who needs better control Mr. Hudson and I will deal with them...myself" He turns to the squirrel "the name is Marek..Lord Marek to you"

Hudson narrows his eyes at the squirrel and snorts, he glances at Marek "Take care of a couple leaders like I said"

Donald smiles and walks over to the two. "Oy, so yer the vermin I been hearin' about!"

Marek speaks to the squirrel, "And it be wise to go elsewhere unless of course you have something important to say Mr. Squirrel"

Hudson rolls his eyes, "He's a woodlander and I believe its curfew time, so get lost!"

Donald says, "Oy, me name's Donald, yer royal hiney. I come from an island." He looks at Hudson. "What curfew?"

Marek frowns "Do call me Lord Marek Mr. Donald and the curfew when most are to be getting ready for bed"

Lee steps in, making a much more subdued entrance. He looks around, but does not speak to any beast yet, remaining quiet. Uncharacteristically quiet.

Hudson sneers "Yeah now go or taste me blade woodlander"

Marek shakes his head "No need for any blades Mr. Hudson" He looks at Lee "Ahh Mr. Lee I do hope your eve is pleasant"

Donald snickers. "Oy, wot's it taste like?"

Hudson growls low but stays seated for now, but looks very willing to stab the squirrel.

Lee looks over at the squirrel, "Oy, ye best be quiet. I'd rather ye stay alive..." Finally looking at Marek, he blinks. "Yes... It is fine. Ev'rythin' be fine except Hudson."

Marek says, "Yes he seems in a bad mood today, perhaps we all need some ale or scones"

Donald smiles at Marek. "Aye, ale sounds good."

Hudson shakes his head and smirks, "We could chain them both and then have ale"

Marek says, "There will be no chaining of beasts Mr. Hudson, you know that"

Lee stands to his full height now, some of the old fire returning to his eyes. "Regarding Mr. Hudson, I 'ave a complaint ta lodge... regarding Lorimis."

Donald softly whistles a tune.

Hudson narrows his eyes at the otter.

Marek nods "Go on Mr., Lee what is it? I am sure we can settle it" He smiles as ale and scones arrive" Go on...get some"

Lee hesitates, but continues. "Not four days ago, Hudson attempted to strangle Lorimis, unprovoked. Lorimis 'as been in Infirm recoverin' since then."

Donald grabs some ale, but doesn't drink it yet.

Marek listens as this is said, the politeness ends there as he stands and draws his deadly blade, he says nothing to the otter and for now stands there, but the look on his face is not a very good one.

Hudson blinks and smiles coldly, oh yeah this will be good he believes

Donald shrugs, and takes a swig of the ale. Hopefully it's not poison.

Marek looks towards Hudson, eyes have this deadly look to them as he looks straight at the wildcat, "You tried to kill the abbot! What else have you done behind my back! I do believe I need a new 2nd in command" He calls over a weasel" Tell Zarola she is my new 2nd in command and as for you" A snarl, a growl as he walks forwards.

Lee looks down at the floor, not daring to move or even speak.

Hudson draws his cutlass and narrows his eyes now, "How dare you, you know not the mistake you make today Marek, but soon...soon you WILL know...."

Marek eyes are alive in battle fire "No touching the abbot leaders, this is not allowed and no trying to kill Lorimis either, that’s a large no..Leave my sight! Leave this place!"

Hudson smirks, "As you wish, like I said you made a mistake doing this to me..goodbye Marek" He walks out and a few novices stay clear of him.

Donald says, "Well, I fer one am glad 'e's gone. 'E never let me 'ave any ale..."

Lee doesn't move yet, just glances around nervously.

Marek takes a few deep breaths, he calls over a black fured rat in a cloak" Threetoe..follow him..kill him ..Bring me His Head!" The rat bows "AS you wish Lord Marek" He then hurries off, will he succeed...well that’s has yet to be seen.

Donald says, "...well, I suppose much was accomplished t'night!"

Lee moves to sit, slowly. "I did not mean to cause any trouble..."

Marek puts his blade away and looks at the two" I thank you for your info Mr., Lee, you and your friend can have the ale and scones I need to speak with my new 2nd in command, do have a good eve" Yes he is still peeved but not at Lee and Donald, no at Hudson as he walks off paws behind his back, it be best to stay clear of him for a couple days whether your woodlander or vermin.

--Later--

Marek sits in a chair, hands folded on the table as he waits.

Zarola steps in, she is a tall monitor lizard and approaches Marek, "Lord Marek, you asked forzzzz mee?"

Marek nods "Congrats your my new 2nd in command" He says those few words and then heads to bed.

Zarola sneers and bows "Yes Lord Marek"

Marek makes it to his new chambers and shuts the door, sleep is needed.
