RW Abbey: Library
The library has never looked better in seasons as shelves have been
repaired and so have tables and chairs. The once empty sleeves now
have more books in them and not only that the books are in an ABC
order and arranged by subject to better find what one is looking for.
The beautifully crafted windows are well cleaned.
This gives the library plenty of light during the daylight hours. The
room has a high vaulted ceiling. The flagstones of the floor are cool
and smooth, and echoes are sometimes heard when beasts walk. Brass
lamps containing short, fat little white candles provide enough light
for reading. Some books are still being mended but being working on
getting on the shelves. The backroom is even very clean and organized
as well. Books were found in the attic and some from Ferravale were
added that the Ferravale beast had maybe two copies of something so
gave Redwall one of the copies for the Redwall library, all in all a
lot of hard work has done wonders for the library.
On an Oakwood desk is the charter laying inside a clear glass case for
all to see. The glass case keeps it safe and clean. Some other chairs
large and small, wooden and soft, have been placed in varies places
in the library and a pile of covers and blankets sit in one corner
with a few pillows as well.

Abbey Charter
Caleb is in the library, he has been a tutor the past like 2-3 weeks so far to the rat maid Thorn, helping with reading, writing and a little math.
Thorn is looking over some letters and writing them carefully, she is getting a lot better with her reading and writing and takes her time to study the words, relax and focus on them so she gets the words right, and has learned to be a bit less slow when she does read.
Caleb sits beside her and smiles "You been doing very good Thorn, I think the extra help has done you good"
Thorn smiles "yeah it has, I mean letters are still a bit sideways or backwards but I know the correct direction to write them now and what letter they are, even though I am seeing them a little different than others, I know the letter now and before I didn't"
Caleb nods "I am glad to of helped, maybe you can think more on being a novice"
Thorn shakes her head "No thanks, not a plan for me but I will still keep getting better at reading and writing as that’s always a good thing."
Caleb says, "And that’s fine, being a novice is not for everyone. It takes a lot of work and time."
Thorn nods as she looks over the letters "I am glad someone understands."
Caleb blinks "Well it is a lifelong decision after all, once you are a novice you are a novice, then 2nd rank and soon Brother or Sister in the order and you keep the ways of the abbey everywhere you go"
Thorn says, "Yes but it doesn’t mean your safe all the time, trust me bad beasts will still try and hurt you as some don't care"
Caleb says, "That’s true yes, there are some who respect us though and others don’t you are right."
Thorn says, "I mean I live here but it doesn’t mean I have to be a novice or whatever, not all here are members of the order, some are just residents"
Caleb nods in agreement "Yeah like that badger Zee, ummm Flicktail and Rayen are just residents....my mom isn’t part of the order, my dad is though"
Thorn says, "Yeah so I will just stay a resident...sides no vermin species are in the order, not that it’s a reason to not join, just the whole..life time comment thing and all"
Caleb listens and nods one more time "And it’s your decision and yours alone"
Thorn looks at a book, simple one dibbuns may start with and then closes it, "Even though its books ment for dibbuns, it still feels good to be able to read some"
Caleb says, "Your get better as time goes along, your see and your be reading just as good as any other beast here"
Thorn shrugs "Maybe, but reading at all, even a little is better than not reading and my math skills are some better also"
Caleb says, "Like I said you’re doing very well I wouldn’t worry so much"
Thorn smiles "Thanks, just your a good friend or least hope your a friend and your not just tutoring me cause you were told to"
Caleb shakes his head "No I am glad to help yak, I enjoy helping others"
Thorn seems unsure but nods " Helping is always a good thing. I help where I can as well, like dishes and helped someone fold a lot of towels and sheets yesterday"
Caleb says, "That’s nice" He yawns a little tried. “So a good day today?"
Thorn says, "It’s been a fairly quiet day, I heard that shrew was escorted out. I am glad even if that sounds mean, I am glad"
Caleb says, "Well he was rude and he tried to...kill you, he was violent so I do not think anyone will miss him"
Thorn has been silent and finally nods "Yeah...."
Caleb says, "Well he is gone now, dad said the shrew was escorted out by two otters and went like south or something, so away from the abbey and I don't think they would let him back in"
Thorn nods "I figured when I didn’t hear or see him"
Caleb answers "Yeah, besides dad didn’t think the shrew would return anyways, the shrew also almost punched Benar but the guards stopped him, so yeah Benar is most likely glad the shrew is gone too"
Thorn frowns, "I am glad the guards were there then" She still seems worried.
Caleb says, "Everything will be ok, your see"
Thorn says, "I hope...I am gonna take a nap" She then heads on to her room" See you later"
Caleb nods and waves to her as she heads off.
An hour or so later
RW Abbey: Late Rose Garden
The Rose garden offers solitude and peace from every-day life of the abbey. A feeling of tranquility is presented through the roses and the open area that seems to flow over everything around.
Buds stud the plants along with greenery that shows through the last remnants of icicles that simplly /won't/ leave. The last vestige of the winter snow has long since melted from the trainquil little spot -- seeing as it's a popular place for young couples it's no wonder that the new carpet of grass under foot is now trampled flat. As it matures it will come back, but for now, it can remain flat. The little buds are already showing their colors, even a few of the early-bloomers beginning to come out and open up. A lovely place to represent spring, no?

Caleb led the mouse maid to the garden, but he had a blindfold on her eyes, placed on the ground is A blue blanket with a couple plates, cups and bowls and a vase with a single rose in it. Some cake, pears, bread and mint tea is before them. Also some salad and slices of cheddar cheese. "Ok you can take off the blindfold"
Cynthia takes off the blindfold “So whats with....oh my" She blinks and looks at the site and then to Caleb"For..us?"
Caleb nods and smiles "Yeah and I made the bread, and well had help with the cake and the rest was easy to make. I thought a picnic be nice"
Cynthia smiles "Well I think this is very nice of you." She sits down slowly in the grass,"And today is a nice day also"
Caleb sits down as well and pours them both tea and gets cake for each of them and sits it down in front of them and smiles "That’s why choose today, calm winds and just a little clouds"
Cynthia eats some cake and sips her tea "It’s good." She gets a little bread and puts cheese on it, also taking a bite and smiles "Your becoming a very good cook Caleb"
Caleb drinks his own tea and nibbles the cake “Cheesecake with some strawberries its good huh? And goes well with mint tea"
Cynthia nods "I like it, maybe you can help make it for the fall feast so others can taste it also"
Caleb shrugs "Still a ways off yet" He sips some tea and eats some cake" But always good to have ideas in advance"
Cynthia chuckles and goes to kiss his check, then smiles “Thanks for the lovely afternoon I am having a good time"
Caleb smiles as he is kissed and nods "Your welcome Cynthia"
Cynthia smiles warmly as she eats her lunch quietly. The salad she adds in the pears, enjoying the company and the day. “I will remember today"
Caleb nods "So will I?" He eats some more of the food and smiles as he just enjoys her company “This has turned out to be a very nice day"
Cynthia as she finishes up and sits plates and cups in neat piles to make it better to take them back to the kitchen she scoots closer to Caleb and rests her head on his shoulder.
Caleb sighs happy as he places an arm around the mouse maid. This is a good way to end the afternoon.
