Emyuil and DoraRose, united once again!! Among other thingymawhatsahigits (A Redwall log)
RW Abbey: Entry
You stand on a grassy sward between two cottages. To the south you see a small, calm pond. To the north lies an open space where the Abbey has its feasts in the warmer seasons. To the east is the Great Hall, a massive structure that rises far above the abbey walls and is completed with large towers that pierce upwards into the sky. The main building is completed with a large, iron banded door that would allow one into the Great Hall.

Badgers: Zinnia, female.
Monitor Lizards: Zarok, male.
Zinnia walks into the entry from the direction of the open grounds. She has her journal with her and then goes to sit on the stairs leading to the walltops
Emyuil is pacing agitatedly at the entry, and barely acknowledges Zinnia's presence--his mind is elsewhere. Meanwhile, a green scaly shape peers towards the abbey from atop the ramparts. Emyuil is probably aware of the creature but pays it no mind. Occasionally he mutters to himself.
DoraRose comes out of the gatehouse, wearing her green dress and blue apron. She's been home a week, but has basically stayed holed up in the Gatehouse the whole time. Because SUDDEN INFLUX OF PEOPLE. This mouse is an introvert. It's not her fault. She sees her brother (but not the reptile person) and stands there, debating about calling out to him or not. She probably should, but sneaking up on him would be funnier.
Zinnia looks over at the muttering and she does see Dorarose but doesn't make any movement or anything to show she sees the mousemaid, least yet.
Emyuil says nothing, completely oblivious. Zarok--because that's who the lizard is on the ramparts--sneaks down the stairs, slipping past Zinnia quietly with a murmured, "'scuze me."
Being sneaky, it is. Rose sneaks forwards and very sneakily goes to hug her brother very hard, while simultaneously saying, "BABY BROTHER!!!!" She may have missed him just a tad. She still has yet to really notice the lizard (ooops), but she smiles at the badger, who is kind of hiding the lizard from her view, so whatever.
Zinnia nods her hello and blinks as the monitor starts to go around her and ends up moving "Ummm...I was about to go out anyways, need to check on someone."
With a loud yelp of surprise and joy, Emyuil is taken off guard and falls down; however, he returns the hug so he most likely pulls DoraRose down with him! He's laughing long and loud, hugging her energetically. He wipes a tear of happiness from his eyes finally and says simply, "Missed you, sis." Zarok glances at his aunt and uncle, and decides to let them have their moment. "So. You back," he says amiably to Zinnia.
DoraRose gets pulled over. Oh, well. Whatevah. Laughing, too, she goes to wipe any tears she sees. "I missed you, too. I brought you this." She pulls a pretty yellow lion's paw shell out of her pocket and holds it out to him. "It's good to be back home with my family...."
Zinnia nods "Yeah...be back by dinner" And she heads off onto the road.
Emyuil smiles. "Aww, thanks." He holds the shell close to his face to examine it. "It's beautiful," he says quietly. "What is the ocean like?" he asks curiously. Zarok meanwhile is going on the prowl, sneaking up on his aunt now that the initial reunion has happened...
DoraRose smiles and describes the ocean, jokingly starting off with, "Well, it's wet, for one..." she is still oblivious to the little lizard guy. But she has a shell for him, too. (OOC: I know that that was a cop-out. I have never been to the ocean IRL. Just let it go, man.... BIC:) (OOC: And she describes the ocean as best as she can remember. Just whatever, man...BIC:)
"Pffft, y'think?" Emyuil snorts. By the way, has Dora noticed that his scars are fading? It's a moot point then because ZAROK ATTACK! The monitor launches himself like an arrow at DoraRose with a yell of "AUNTIEEEEE ROZZZEEEE!"
"Ohmyheavens!!" Rose falls over (again), then goes to hug her little (adopted) nephew. "Zarok, sweetie! I brought you a shell, too!" She pulls out a brownish pinkish snail shell and holds it out to him. No, she didn't notice the fading scars, especially after the lizard pounced on her.
Zarok smiles. "Thankz auntie!" he says brightly. He holds up the snail shell and sniffs it slowly. "Smells like water!" he proclaims. "An' salt! An' sand!" He stashes the shell in the pocket of his novice's habit. "I find Terfil and show him!" The lizard streaks off, waving a quick goodbye to his aunt and uncle.
"WaitisthataNovicehabit...aaand he's gone." Dora narrows her eyes at the retreating figure, absently going to stroke her brother's head. "He had a Novice habit on when I was still here, right?" Would she be able to feel the scars being not quite so prominent?
Indeed she would. The Half-Rat--no, just Emyuil for now--nods. "Yeah, he did." He clearly enjoys the head-stroking, his sister's paw happening to brush along the network of diminished scars on the left side of his face.
"Oh, okay. I must've forgotten. My memory isn't as good as it used to be....." Rose trails off as she feels the diminished scars, and she turns to look at him, stroking at that whole area again. "....your scars....." she whispers is shock as the sun highlights the scar on her left cheek and the very, very faint scars on her temple. "Are they....fading???"
Emyuil's fading scars stretch in a small smile even as the sun gleams along his own scars and reflects brightly in the corner of his obsidian-black eyes. "Yup. Nana found a recipe for some kind of poultice that heals 'em. Partly, at least. But...still." Still smiling, he reaches out to embrace his older sister. "It's...okay right?" he asks, a bit concerned when he sees her expression.
DoraRose lets him hug her as a smile creeps over her face. "Okay? yeah, it's perfectly....totally okay! I just.....I'm just......I wasn't expecting it, is all." She finally goes to hug him back. "......I'm so proud of you." She whispers. Proud for him getting rid of the scars. Proud of him moving on with his life. Proud of....everything.
Emyuil holds his sister tight, whispering, "I love you, 'rose," softly. "And be sure to thank Lily, too--it was her that encouraged me to go through with it." He gazes up at the sky briefly after the hug is finished. Today is a perfect day. Not a cloud in the sky, or in his heart.
DoraRose grins and moves into a 1-armed hug from the side. "I'll be sure to do that." She looks up at the pretty cloudless sky, too. It is, indeed, a practically perfect day. "I love you, too, Emmy. More than you'll ever know."
