DoraRose has found out or Is this the end? Is this good-bye?

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Redwall Abbey, Great Hall.

Happens right after this log: http://rwmuck.limitless.org/rwmuck/content/it-needed-be-done

Zinnia the badger. DoraRose and Angela the mice. Lee and Streamheart the otters. Zork the badger.

Zinnia is here talking with Lee, not very many beasts are in the great hall right now

DoraRose comes slowly down the staircase, looking like she has a heavy wheight on her shoulders, tearstains on her cheeks.

Lee looks toward the stair, saying to Zinnia, "I would say she does..."

Zinnia looks over as she sees Dorarose and goes over to her, she doesnt know everything thats happen just that Leon is in the infim and not doing very well, she..course if allowed, hugs her..just hugs her.

DoraRose allows herself to be hugged as more tears leak out of her eyes. She buries her face in the badger's shoulder, comforted at least a little.

Zinnia pats the mousemaid on the back before asking "Are you alright?" She frowns, ok dumb thing to ask as it's clear she isn't, "I am here if need a friend andothers are also"

Lee nods as well, his face uncharacteristically mournful. "DoraRose, If there be anythin' Stream'eart or meself can do... Don't 'esitate ta ask, please."

DoraRose nods and goes ot sit down by the fire, trying really hard to not weep. She rests her elbow on her knee and rests her face on her paw.

Zinnia watches Dorarose "What did the healers say about Brother Leon?"

Zork walks into the great hall, he has his cane and slows as he sees Dorarose, he talked to her ealier..welll sort of as he didn't go into detail of what happen. He quietly sits in the large chair in the room staying quiet.

Streamheart comes down the stairs slowly, looking slightly less tired than she had this morning. "Lee, I woke up, you were gone. I decided to look for you..." Lee joins his wife, looking concerned. "Stream'eart, ye didn't exert yerself? Ye remember wot Angelo said, concernin' yer...condition." He places his arm around her shoulders.

DoraRose sniffs, trying to compose herself enough to answer. "They...*sniff* they said he...might die...." She gives a sob, covers her mouth with a paw, and starts to silently cry.

Zinnia frowns, she is not sure how to reply to that. She catches sight of Zork but stays by the mousemaid for the time being as she says "The healers are very good here and there is also your grandma as well to help"

Zork stares at the fireplace, silent. He is still upset over earlier, even if it saved a life or least he hopes it did, it still upset him.

Lee guides Streamheart to a chair near the fireplace. "Ye need rest, dear. I...I don't want anythin' ta happen to ye..." He nods to Zork, but doesn't say anything to him at the moment.

DoraRose nods, then manages to get out, after a pair of sobs, "They had to cut off his paw. His right one! He's right-pawed! How is he going to do anything...?"

Zork sighs, ok he is getting up and leaving the room even if he didn't do what was mentioned, he was there still. He still helped to make sure there was no blood loss as he limps to the steps, cane forgotten but he doesn't care he just leaves it there and heads to his room. Without even saying anything.

Zinnia says, "I am unsure. There is left pawed beasts in the world. Lorimis is left pawed..so it's possible to use one's left paw"

Lee sighs. "I gave the go-ahead. I'm sorry, but it was amputate, or watch 'im die. Which would ye choose?"

DoraRose angrily glares at the head Guard, grabs a pillow and lobs it at him, then sins to the floor and starts sobbing. At about this time, Angela comes out of the stairwell, looking ashen and sad. She sighs and starts hobbling over to her granddaughter, who is now in front of the chair she was sitting in.

Zinnia sighs, she notices her father gone from the room and frowns wondering where he went but decides to find out later.

Lee ducks, shaking his head. "Angelo was adamant. Leon would *die*! It 'ad ta be done." He sighs, feeling deflated, and slumps near the chair Streamheart is sitting in. She remains utterly silent, though she looks as if she is extremely exhausted...

Angela makes it over to her granddaughter, making her get back in the chair as she murmers, "Ye'll catch cold there on the floor like that, sweetheart." She then sighs and shakes her head. "His condition is about the same. I've examined the paw, and founf evidence of something, but I sha'n't tell ye 'till I'm sure what it is. I'm sorry, darlin'. This is just awful."

Zinnia decides to go find out where her father went in such a hurry, she excuses herself and exits the room

Streamheart remains quiet, closing her eyes. "Lee... Could you get some tea? I don't feel well, sorry." Lee shakes his head. "No need ta apologize, me love... Chamomile?" Streamheart nods slowly. Lee steps into the kitchen briefly.

DoraRose listens to the whispers her great-grandmother is saying to her, then she nods. As Angela hobbles back up the stairs, the warrir mouse composes herself (which takes a number of minutes). After she feels composed enough, she wipes her eyes with a handkerchief, then smiles wanly at the female otter. "I'm sorry if...what's going on...is disturbing you..." she looks honestly sorry, and worried, as she looks at the crumpled hankie in her paw.

Streamheart opens her eyes, and gazes at the mouse. "It's okay. I...understand. I'd... I'd be lost if something happened to...Lee." She frowns. Lee reenters a few minutes later, carrying a teacup, which he hands to his wife. "Anythin' else?"

DoraRose smiles a tiny bit. "Thank you." She sniffs, then raises an eyebrow at the Head Guard's attentiveness.

Lee glances at DoraRose, then actually blushes. "Good grief, in all this hubbub, our good news were kinda...forgotten." He looks down at his wife, smiling a little. "We're, ah..." "Having another child," Streamheart finishes.

DoraRose smiles a little more, but is still understandably sad. "Congratulations. That's wonderful, really. When did you find out?"

Lee places a paw on Streamheart's shoulder. "This mornin', actually. Stream'eart were feelin' very poorly when she woke up, an' was sick... Turns out, it were mornin' sickness."

DoraRose's smile fades. "Oh....well, I geuss that, even in death and destruction, there is life. I'm...I'm happy for you 2. Congratulations."

Streamheart nods, taking a sip of her tea. "Thank you, DoraRose... It was certainly unexpected."

DoraRose raises an eyebrow, but decides to not say anything about it being unexpected. "I remember when I found out that we were having our Dibbuns. I was so excited and nervous."

Lee smiles, rubbing Streamheart's shoulder with his paw. "Aye, we were very nervous, too. An' now we be onto dibbun number three. Because o' course young Starlight counts." He smiles.

DoraRose smiles slightly. "Of course. Just like Zarok is my nephew, even though he's a monitor lizard." She sneezes suddenly, thrice, into her handkerchief.

Streamheart quietly finishes her tea, but she still looks rather tired. "Goodness... Is it a cold?" She hands her empty cup back to Lee, who sets it aside on a nearby table. "Remember wot the 'ealer said, Stream'eart. Ye let me know if ye need ta retire early, alright?"

DoraRose shakes her head, then sneezes again. "No...it's my ah--ah--ah-choo! *snerk* Allergies." She wipes her nose and stands. "I think, perhaps, I should retire to the Infirmary and get some allergy powder...good day..." and she walks away, leaving the couple to enjoy each-other's company as she goes to stay by her husband's side.

Lee raises his paw, nodding. "See ye later. I 'ope ev'rythin' turns out good for ye." Streamheart nods as well. "Goodnight, DoraRose." She yawns after that.
