From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Redwall Abbey Kitchen Yard!

Zork the Badger, Ahndia the squirrel and Sariel the squirrel spoof.

Zork is fixing the forge as small tinking noises is heard. He has gotten al ot done as he has had little sleep lately. He checks a small area and uses a tool to smooth out the anvil a little more and grins. His tunic is soot covered and his fur is a little as well as he is also cleaning out the forge so new fires can be in it again soon, a wall is almost built back up around the forge aswell.

Ahndia comes walking from the Kitchen Garden, an apron over her habit and a bowl in her arms. She stops short as she sees the badger. "Oh, um..." She clears her throat. "Good morning, Sir." She's seen him before, but for the life of her can't remember his name.

Zork looks over at the squirrel and nods "Ello thar lass, how be you, I just a fixin' de forge all up nice and good"

Ahndia smiles. "I'm doing fine, thank you. I'm supposed to be in the kitchens working," She gestures to the bowl. "But it got stuffy in there. Do you mind if I join you out here? There were too many others in the garden." Her tail twitches behind her.

Zork says, "Ya can spend time with me, I not doin' too much now, should have this fixed in a week now, been doin' alot of work on it ta get it ready before first snows hit"

Ahndia nods gratefully as she moves towards the base of the apple tree, sitting down and leaning against it, facing the working badger. "Thank you, Sir." She sets the bowl in her lap, pulls out an apple and a knife. "That's good of you to be working so hard on it. You're the new blacksmith, aren't you?"

Zork nods "I be Zork, I be glad ta fianlly show my smith skills ere' at de abbey and helpin' them out like this"

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Zork. And I'm sure we're very glad to have you here." A neat litte apple skin curl falls into the bowl as Ahndia peels it. "Have you always been a blacksmith?"

Zork smiles "I was one in Send valley, course in de abbey I will not make or repair amor or weapons, none of that at de abbey just useful things such as nails, hinges, and a new wheelchair fer a friend, and a couple rings"

Ahndia nods. "Oh, that makes sense. Well, unless /something/ happens we won't need any weaponry." She says the last part softly, as if afraid of it. She's clearly thinking about crazies like Vladmir and that crossbow beast... whatsisface, Marek. "But that all sounds like good stuff." She rejoins with a smile, not looking up from the knife and apple in her paw. Another skin curl falls into the bowl.

Zork says, "Well lets hope not lass, and de rings are fer a friends wedding, de wheelchair fer Cera"

"I assumed that much." Ahndia drops the skinless apple and picks up another, rubbing it gently on her apron. "I don't work much anymore in the infirmary, but my Mumma does, so I know about Cera." She winces. "And the two otters are getting married, aren't they? I don't recall their names, but..."

Zork says, "Lee and Streamheart, they be a nice couple I thinkin"

Ahndia smiles as she thinks of them. "Indeed. But most couples are very cute." She rubs her nose, blushing. Not a very strategic thing to say, considering she's part of a couple now, too. "Say, Mr. Zork, are you married?"

Zork shakes his head"No, never was and never will be, why ya ask lass?"

Ahndia shrugs and shakes her head. "Just curious. No offense intended." From the near direction of the orchard comes a faint rustling....

Zork grins "It be ok, not all beasts have a mate"

Ahndia rubs her nose again to cover her blush. "Yeah, I know. Just curious." She looks back down at her bowl, full of apples and apple skins.

Zork nods, he looks back to the forge and does some more repair work to it and smiles, yep this comin' along nicely now"

(A grey squirrel jumps out of the nearest orchard tree and races over, the source of the rustling. "Hello!" He calls. Ahndia's jaw drops, and she proceeds to promtly close it. He leans against the tree next to her. "Hi Sir. Just coming to say hello to Ahni here. Nice forge. You the blacksmith?" He grins. )

Zork nods "I be de blacksmith and de forge still needs work done on it, ya need sumthing lad?"

The newcomer shakes his head. "Nope. I'm good, thanks though. But the Chef was wondering where Ahni had got to." Ahndia screws up her face. "But... he /gave/ me permission to come out here. 'Sides, he doesn't need these apples yet, does he? Oh, Sorry." She blushes. "Forgot my manners. Mr. Zork, this is Sariel." Sariel waves cheerily.

Zork nods and waves, "Good to meet you lad, guessing you live here also?"

Sariel nods. "I was here awhile back, but my friend Reaper and I left to do some traveling. But I think I'm staying for good now." He grins again.

Zork nods "It be a good place ta live, I can finally say I live ere'"

"Oh, nice! Yeah, I like it. Lots of good food, beautiful place..." Sariel sits next to Ahndia. "Great friends." She blushes, reaching into her bowl for another apple. "Stop it Sar." But she smiles. "Well, I should be going Mr. Zork. If Cook wants me, it isn't good to keep him waiting. It was nice to talk to you though." She smiles as she reaches out a paw and helps Sariel up.

Zork waves "Nice talkin' ta you two as well

Ahndia and Sariel walk off chatting, still holding paws. Ahndia tucks her bowl under her arm as they head back to teh kitchen.
