Bloodclaw Gets Information

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Silverfangs is by the pond, finishing his meditation and looks around slightly, it’s still early.

Oak watches in a tree, munching on a honey scone from the abbey's breakfast...he likes food.

Oz walks over towards Silverfangs and smiles, he sits beside him “Hello Father, how are you this morning...good I hope, I was concern the other day when you mentioned the heat was getting to you"

Silverfangs smiles "I am fine my son, and the heat is little in the early morning" He chuckles "So you live here now.....in such a large dwelling of sorts."

Oak blinks. "Father?” he whispers to himself. "Hmm...'dis could prove useful"

Oz gives a slight laugh and shrugs "I...yes, but I am usually off on my own or with the dibbuns here, crowds still seem to...annoy me at times"

Oak watches with curiosity, he always had a little bit, too much of this curiosity.

Silverfangs smiles "Yes..I remember, but" he frowns" You didn't always shy from crowds though you did watch over young ones in the clan, do you remember?"

Oz sighs softly, he nods "Yes...a long time ago but..I had my reasons to leave and I am sorry I didn't come back into Send Father, I was.....facing feelings I didn't wish to share at the time and guess, didn't want no beast around"

Silverfangs nods "I..was worried for you, I almost lost you...you almost lost your self" He then smiles" But this place of red stone...seems to have saved you, yes?"

Oak scrambles off quickly, perhaps this information will safe his life the next time Bloodclaw arrives.

Oz tilts his head confused at first, and then nods "Ahh yes...the" he stops and doesn't go on "I suppose the event changed a lot, but I have gotten over it, beasts here have helped me"

    • Later**

Mossflower - Dirt Road ---------------------------

Southward, the imposing silhouette of Redwall Abbey is framed against the

sky. The sun's gentle glow bathes the Abbey in a nearly angelic

halo, and the pale crimson of the walls is seen clearly even from such a

distance. Casting a broad shadow on the ground, the Abbey walls rise up,

strong and solid. The road is nearly dwarfed by the structure, as is the

smaller building to the north. Flanking the road, a few scattered trees,

white with snow, offer the transition from the northern forests to the

western grasslands.

Bloodclaw walks over to Oak. "Ello, find anything out Oak?"

Oak shrugs. "Course I did"

Bloodclaw holds a dagger at Oak's throat. "Then tell me 'matey"

Oak gulps, a poison dagger at your throat can make you do so many things. "Uhh.. yeah, 'dis Fox came to 'da Abbey, strange robe…can’ miss it and 'da Badger calls 'im Father". He pauses for a minute. "Ain't 'dat 'illarious Bloody?"

Bloodclaw smirks. "Anytihing else ya know about the stripedog?"

Oak shakes his head quickly. "Nope, 'dat's it"

Bloodclaw smiles, and slides the poison dagger away from the squirrel’s throat, he leaves a small bag of gold on the ground. "I'll be back"

Oak picks up the gold and runs for the abbey, before the rat changes his mind and kills him.

Bloodclaw smirks, this information could prove...useful.

    • A short while later in the abbey**

Oak walks into the room, eating an orange...he likes food.

Oz is sitting in his chair sipping his tea. This is his break time from the dibbuns while most of them nap, he looks over at Oak as he sees him and motions an abbey sister over "I am taking the rest of the day off..."
Oak finishes his Orange, and is looking around for a place to dispose of the peeling.

Oz stands up and walks over to Oak, "Hello...we need to chat" He waits for a response from the squirrel.

Oak nods. "But why?"
Oz folds his arms over his chest, one is still bandaged "Why was a rat talking to you at the gates?..And what did it want from you?"
Oak shrugs. "Everybeast wants info 'atta me...but 'oldin a dagger at me throat , 'tis the wrong way 'ta get it"
Oz stands and remains calm "He was talking about some..sea otter, I think...what does he want with a creature of Redwall or least one in its care?"
Oak shrugs. "I 'dunno what Bloody wants 'wid a otter, knowing 'im 'ee wants 'ta kill 'im"
Oz shakes his head "well he better know he can't enter the abbey"
Oak blinks. "But I saw 'im go in 'da Abbey, 'ee punched 'da Otter in 'da Gut!, 'din he left with a big bag 'o food...wish I could 'ave summa 'dat food"
Oz glares "And when was this?!"
Oak thinks for a moment. "A few days ago, around 'da same time 'da Rat insulted you"
Oz closes his eyes, he remembers that and growls low, and he then nods "Well it better not come back or I will have to deal with it"
Oak nods. "Go do 'dat Oz". He smiles. "One threat to 'me business"
Oz still glares at the squirrel "This rat isn’t some...friend of yours Is He?"
Oak shakes his head. "Nah, Bloody ain't no friend, 'ee's just a'nudder Customer turned Violent. Ta tell 'da truth I'm startin' to really 'ate that Rat"
Oz looks at Oak and his voice is serious "If I find out the rat has caused any trouble for the abbey,...your the first I will go to find out what is going on, do you understand me?"
Oak shrugs. "If I know, 'dat rat does stuff even I don't know about".
Oz says, "For your sake...he better stay clear of the abbey and I think it would be wise for you to not talk with him anymore""
Oak shakes his head. "Bloody won't do 'dat. When 'ee makes up 'is mind 'ta do summat, 'ee sticks too it, nutthin can stop 'dat Rat".
Oz doesn't say anything and then "I wouldn't say...nothing could stop him, I am sure...something can"
Oak blinks. "Yer not sayin?...."
Oz looks at Oak "Not saying anything right now, just...all beasts have a weakness, he probably has one"
Oak shrugs. "Wan't me to find out?"
Oz nods slowly "Just know, the rat better not harm anyone and it was because of you"
Oak shrugs. "Tis never because 'o me, Bloody would kill 'ye with or without anyone's 'elp"
Oz nods "Well let me make a quick suggestion, there is a certain hare here he wouldn't want upset with him...trust me, it would be unwise "
Oak blinks. "Bloody doesn't really care, 'ee jus kills anybeast in 'is path. Tried 'a kill me more 'din Once, I 'ad about enough of 'im I 'ave"
Oz listens and nods "Well let’s hope he goes elsewhere and decides to not stay near the abbey at least"
Oak nods. "I quite agree", serious as he loses the accent, he's about to go and tell the rat he isn't going to help him anymore.
