FV:Orchards

You have come upon a large orchards that has apple trees in one area, pear trees in another, some peach trees and some walnut and almond trees in another area of the orchards. A couple plum trees are on the far side of the orchards and on the sides some blackberry bushes and wild strawberries. A path heads back to the fields where crops grow.

Exits: [B]ack to Fields

Cats: Blisa, female. Scioto, male.

Ferrets: Ferdinand, male.

Foxes: Valerie, female.

Ermines: Nightbreath, male.

Scioto decided the orchards was best, not just cause Nightbreath said so. The day was slightly cloudy now as the clouds had cleared up now and he had the rest of the day free.

Blisa has followed her father, and Ferdinand and Valerie have come, too. Basilisk really wanted to come, but they made him stay behind. The young cat jogs to catch up with her father and goes to hold his paw. "Daddy? What's wrong? What did Nightbreath see?" The bodyguards stay at a respectable distance, but they are ready to leap forward to help if need be.

Scioto is quiet as he still is trying to figure out how to say what was seen. He sits down under one of the trees and finally speaks "Sorry I seemed to....yell earlier, I feared something was seen about you, but I was wrong. But I do want you to still be careful and stay alert, not go anywhere alone"

Blisa goes to crawl into his lap after he sits down. "I promise! I don't go anywhere alone anymore. What...." she can't go on, and just goes to wrap her arms around his neck. The bodyguards stay standing a little bit away, but close enough that they can hear what's being said (unless it's whispered). The young cat seems a little bit afraid, but she's trying to be brave.

Scioto hugs her and is still quiet, he clears his throat" He...he saw me." He says quietly. Concern and worry in his voice, he very rarely shows worry but with some unknown of what for sure will happen does cause it.

Blisa tenses, her whole body stiff. Ferdinand and Valerie quickly come closer, not wanting to believe what they just heard. "Thir, could you pleathe repeat that?" "It sounded like you said..." The young cat look up at her father, her eyes slightly unfocused. "W...w...w...what...what d....did....y....you s...s...say??"

Scioto sighs, it seems things are easier to say once you say it once "I said at first I thought he saw Blisa's death, but I was wrong...he saw me...mine. Nigtbreath's visions are never wrong...it was not seen what happens or where, but in the village somewhere"

"When?" is Ferdinand's first question. Maybe it'll happen in 30 seasons?? He silently hopes. Valerie is silently watching the young cat, who has started to tremble and twitch.

Scioto frowns "Summer was mentioned or maybe he meant before Summer...it was not clear, just someone was there...blurry and no blood"

Ferdinand stares at his boss. "Thith Thummer?" Blisa stands up and stumbles away, trembling violently. After a few steps she falls to her knees and vomits. Valerie rushes to her side and rests a paw on her back, but the young cat scratches her. Blisa starts to rock a little, holding her head in her paws.

Nightbreath walks slowly, almost serenely despite the circumstances, into the orchard. His arms are folded in his robes and his hood is up, betraying no emotion in his face.

Scioto frowns, he is unsure what to do right now.

It starts off very quiet, almost as a whisper, but it steadily grows louder. The rising crescendo is Blisa's scream. She is rocking, holding her head in her paws as her scream gets louder and louder. Valerie starts digging frantically in her haversack. "SCIOTO, GET OVER HERE, NOW!" She orders, all business and Healer-ish. Ferdinand rushes forward to grab the young cat as she draws her knife, still screeching. He manages to wrestle it away from her as the vixen covers the cat's muzzle with a hankie full of herbs.

Nightbreath doesn't move. Even if Blisa was coming for him. A look of sorrow tinges his eyes. Perhaps he feels he deserves whatever she'd do with that knife. He waits, like a statue.

Scioto gets out of what seems a trance and hurries over to Blisa's side, concern now clear on his face "Blisa...calm yourself!"

Blisa is losing consciousness as Valerie's herbs do their work. "Daddy can't die Daddy can't die Daddy....can't....die...." she mumbles over and over before she slips into blessed (if drugged) sleep. Ferdinand is holding her like she's a baby, and he goes to hand her, very gently, to the Chieftain. The vixen passes a shaky paw over her face and sits back on her bum. The ermine finally gets spotted, and she points at him, then at the ground beside her. "You. Here. Now. Please."

Nightbreath moves to that indicated spot in a flow of graceful motion, his robes and cloak swirling around him. He seems less mortal and more of a spectre in the wind.

Scioto holds Blisa close and sighs "She will have to accept it, its happening and maybe soon. She will be chieftain then."

Blisa hangs limply in her father's arms in her unconscious state. Ferdinand is stroking the top of her head slowly. "I don't know if the can....we've been fearing that her mind would break eventually, tho we've been keeping thothe knock-out herbth handy for a while. ....hopefully it won't latht...." Valerie stands and glares the ermine right in the eye. "What all did you see? As Blisa's Healer, I demand to know what all you saw so I can be fully prepared to try and help her not being an insane, raging Monster.....or withdrawn. I'm not sure which direction she might go if she really does go crazy."

"I saw Scioto die, what more do you need to know?" Nightbreath asks gently. "I saw him lying, in his office, on the ground, dead. And it was at the paw of somebeast close."

Scioto frowns "She will be leader after I am gone. Her life may well be in danger as well and we do know it happens in the village, so..no worries outside the village"

Ferdinand sighs and looks up at the ermine. "Do [you] think it can be prevented?" Valerie sighs and rubs her temples. "And you weren't able to tell who it was, right? I...I'm sorry, I just....*sigh* I though we were prepared for her, for this, but....maybe we're not..."

"No...I'm sorry," Nightbreath murmurs. "Fate cannot be stopped this time. I tried, believe me. I've scried, I've searched, I've divined...No clearer answer."

Scioto frowns as he tries to think, "It could be any beast. I am a leader but who I do not know. I have heard rumors of anyone being around."

Blisa stirs a little and groans. "/Daddy.../" she whispers. Ferdinand sighs and cover his eyes with a paw. ".....I think you 2 need to thpend ath much time together ath pothible, Thir Thcioto..." "And keep the routine of her life as normal as possible," Valerie adds turning to look at the Chieftain while going to rest an apologetic paw on the Seer's arm. "I think that will help give her some stability, and maybe she won't take...your death...as hard when it does come."

Nightbreath nods. "Aye. I was going to advise the same." He sighs slowly, breathing deeply.

Scioto nods "Yes not change anything. If it can't be changed that my death happens, then it can't be changed." He looks at the Seer" She has to be ready to be able to lead, and possibly need to be...go elsewhere if whoever kills me is after her as well"

Ferdinand stands up so he's more eye-level with the ermine. "We could alwayth take her to Redwall. The thnake will have to thtay in the woodth, but the retht of uth could theek refuge there." Valerie nods. "And if it turns out to somehow be connected with Zurrgg, we'll need to help Marek, too; he's still not allowed in the Abbey." Blisa whimpers as her groggy brain remembers what happened right before she was knocked out, and she goes to weakly cling to her father's neck, unknowingly extending her claws. "Daddy, don't leave me..." she starts weeping.

"Stay with her," Nightbreath instructs. "She needs you." He nods slowly at Valerie and Ferdy's suggestions. "Good idea. I can hold down the fort here until then."

Scioto silently picks up Blisa and heads to his house, he tells one of the guards to have him and her not be bothered before he heads off with Blisa.

Blisa gets carried home by her father, barely awake. Valerie sighs and rubs her forehead. "What a mess." Ferdinand shakes his head. "We might need you...and I meant after Thir Thcioto dieth..../if/ it happenth. No offenthe, but I'm kind of hoping that you're wrong thith time." Although the Seer is basically never wrong. Valerie looks back up at them. "I'm not sure she'll be ready to become the leader in time," she murmurs.

"We can try," Nighbreath sighs. "We can try." He runs a paw through the fur on his head. "I feel as though I've aged a lifetime in a few hours."

Valerie looks at the direction the cats took, even though they're not in view anymore. Crossing her arms, she whispers, "I know how you feel." Ferdinand purses his lips, then starts walking back to the Chieftain's house. "I hope our trying ith enough."

"It matters not whether we succeed when we try. Only that we /do/ try," Nightbreath agrees. He heads off.
