Apple Walnut Hot Root Cookies?!(DAB REBOOT!!!)
--I have a dibbun now Kayle a little golden fured 2 season old dibbun and this is her first log!!--
RW Abbey: Great Hall
The Great Hall of Redwall Abbey. Countless paw falls have echoed from these stones, and untold numbers of feasts and merry gatherings have been held here. A table, not nearly so grand or large as its predecessors, but quite functional for mealtimes, rests near the center of the hall. Chairs exist here aplenty, and they are all of a matching set. High above, the stain glass windows give the Great Hall a beautiful appearance. The glasswork is exceptionally done, crafted by a skilled artist. The floor is clean and swept. A fire is kept burning in the fireplace at almost all times of the day and night, and there are several more comfortable chairs and cushions set up here, of varying sizes. One looks large enough to easily accommodate a badger.
The Tapestry hangs proud and tall, and while the rest of Redwall may still bear the scars of natural disaster, this most famous of Redwall's relics remains unharmed by beast, time, or the elements. The figure of Martin the Warrior seems to be watching over his own with an unchanging, kindly gaze.
Soft light is slowly beginning to filter in through the stained glass windows high above your head.

Kayle peeks around the corner, listening in on beasts talking.
Lacota says, "A beautiful day... Too bad it's sad."
Flicktail asks, "Sad Friar? What as made you so sad?” He cocks his head with a concerned look.
Thorn frowns, she would think it’s funny he rhymed but today is not a day to laugh, "Every beast is sad Flicktail.."
Lacota says, "Flicktail, Abbot Lorimis passed to the Dark Forest yesterday."
Flicktail looks stunned he had not heard "I had not known that " He says softly
Thorn seems a little upset, “The bells..toned and where were you at then?"
Flicktail says, "I did not know that’s why they was ringing them."
Thorn frowns and goes to hug Flicktail.
Flicktail opens his arms up for the young rat maiden "He was your friend too..." He says softly
Thorn nods slowly.
Flicktail gently embraces her "He gets to see his family now ya know...and will be waiting for us when it's our time.”
Thorn frowns," Why do beasts have to die?"
Flicktail says, "Well Father once told me. You can't have a front without a back, or a top without a bottom...so you can't have life without…"
Thorn asks, "Whats gonna happen now?"
Flicktail says, "Well..Now he will watch us from the Dark Forest, and we will go on....The Elders will elect a new Abbot....and we will continue in Father Lorimis's footpaw steps the way he would want us too."
Thorn says, "Some took the new harder than others...I wasn’t there when they first mentioned it, I was out with Novice Fred getting some clay for making pottery and then found out when we got back that evening."
Flicktail nods "It is hard time aye”
Thorn frowns as she goes to curl up near the fox, she is tried and sniffles a little bit but is soon asleep.
Kayle sneaks into the room and goes under a table and watches the beasts in the room. She looks at the sleeping rat and the fox before she becomes curious and crawls out from under the table" Whats wrong mister?"
Flicktail says, "one of our Older beasts went to the Dark Forrest last night...and we are missing him"
Lacota says, "The Abbot."
Kayle looks at the fox, ok she is a dibbun so she doesn’t understand what the dark forest truly is, "Oh..whens he gonna be backs?"
Flicktail says, "Well..not for a very very long time Lass...."
Kayle nods to this and looks around changing the subject" Me hunggie..needs cookies, haf any?"
Flicktail says, "Hmmm Well Maybe if you ask the Friar there Real nicely"
Lacota sighs. "What a trying day."
Flicktail nods "If there is any way I can help, Friar and do you have a cookie for our young one here?”
Kayle walks over to the friar and looks at him, maybe he needs a hug, she goes to hug him but only comes up to maybe his knees..maybe a little shorter.
Flicktail looks over and see's if he can find a cookie
Kayle looks up at Lacota as he seems quite right now
Lacota rests his paws on Kayle's shoulders. "Thank you, Lass."
Kayle speaks" We needs Cookies...cause Cookies help sad go ways" Yes cookies the cure for everything, who knew. “And you makes yummy yummy cookies"
Lacota asks, "Cookies?" He smiles. "All right lass."
Flicktail smiles "Friar makes the best Cookies" Offering to pick up and snuggle the hamster
Kayle nods “Cookies for every beast!" She then giggles as she is picked up and smiles then giggles and goes to get down" We needs make cookies now, me will help.."
Lacota says, "That's alright lass. I have a jar full in the pantry."
Kayle blinks and smiles at this, she will have the jar cookies for now...besides she can try and make her own later maybe I mean how much trouble can she and a couple dibbuns get into making cookies...cookies the cure for every you need !
Flicktail smiles and sets Kayle down "Do I get a Kayle cookie?”
Kayle says, "If you is goods"
Lacota pads into the kitchen.
Flicktail says, "I will be on me best behavior, I hear Kayle cookies are the BEST"
Kayle smiles and looks at where the Friar went as she whispers "Me make cookies later too....hee hee”
Flicktail says, "I like warm cookies"
Kayle says, "Cookies are nice fresh says, but gots to be careful when makes them"
Flicktail says, "Aye always have someone like the Friar with you cause you’re a GOOD dibbun"
Kayle frowns, but she still nods weather she means that remains to be said.
Flicktail says, "we do not won’t you being burned in the kitchen that would hurt lots"
Kayle says, "Burns be ouchie hot"
Flicktail says, "Yes so always be careful"
Kayle makes a mental note of this and nods
Flicktail says, "An adult beast is there they can keep you safe"
Kayle nods “Safes"
Flicktail smiles as a Novice brings Kayle several warm cookies
Kayle smiles and grabs a couple, but she still plans on trying to make her own later on.
Flicktail says, "aye you will make a GREAT cookie maker"
Kayle nods "Have good ideas.." She stuffs a cookie in her mouth “Will be yummy surprise cookies"
Flicktail says, "ohh I have never HAD a Surprise cookie...those taste good?"
Kayle smiles and sticks out her tongue and races into the kitchen giggling hopefully he doesn’t follow anytime too soon.
RW Abbey: Kitchen
This is a long, narrow room with five large fireplaces set into one wall, and two equally large wood burning iron stoves set against the opposite wall. Several small, rectangular tables rest in here, but there are no chairs available. The rest of the wall space is taken up by an entire array of shelves, cupboards, and counters which hold the day-to-day cooking supplies and utensils. The kitchen is clean and well maintained, and more recent efforts have been made toward organization of the cooking ware.
On the wall just right of the door leading into Great Hall is a neatly penned chart, which lists the names of beasts assigned to cooking duty as well as the dates and times they are scheduled. A small note above the chart urges residents to volunteer for at least a slot or two a week.
Outside, the last rays of sunlight are fading. The ovens are being allowed to cool.

Kayle has gotten away, the fox was called away..hee hee so she got a couple other dibbuns and has made a mess, not a BIG mess but still a mess as she looks at her creation “Gonna be yummys!..Walnut apple hot root cookies!" The couple mice dibbuns with her giggles, flour and sugar on them and some walnuts on the floor.
They have a little trouble putting them in the oven and then, “How turns it on?"
Kayle shrugs
The mess is all over one table and a little on the floor
Flicktail looks around "What be all this?”
Kayle gasps, she been caught. The other two dibbuns, both mice, make a run for it! The hamster looks around and back to the fox "Ummm...making cookies.."
Lacota shakes his head as he enters the kitchen. "Making cookies... why didn't you ask first?"
Flicktail looks around "well the mess COULD be worse”
Kayle frowns as Lacota comes in. "I cleans mess...I will" She looks at the oven it still needs on for her..interesting cookies to bake.
Flicktail doesn't know how to light an oven
Kayle smiles “Apple walnut Hot Root cookies may be goods!”
A novice cook comes in and frowns at the mess, they are unsure of having the oven lit or not
Flicktail says, "Maybe you should try a better recipe...."
Kayle sits down and starts sobbing , “No wants Apple walnut hot root cookies!”
" Ok ok" The novice says and gets the cookies started to bake, she makes sure the dibbun stays away till they are done and sits them on a counter, the dibbun sniffs and walks over slowly to look at the walnut apple hot root cookies.
Flicktail wonders if they might have, behind the scenes, substituted different cookie dough.
Nope this is the same cookies they made, the Apple Walnut Hot Root Cookies, the three dibbun made them , they smell..odd as she goes to grab one and stuff it into her mouth and smile....the apples and walnuts good, then her eyes widen hot root bad idea as her eyes water and she spits out the cookie and coughs and cries her mouth on fire it seems!
Flicktail offers her some meadow cream "Didn't work out so well.this will take away the hot"
Kayle keeps crying and hic ups as she tries to get the hot feeling, she is only a dibbun...."Gonna..dies!..waaaaaaaaaa!" Well she is a dibbun she feels like it.
Flicktail says, "Have some of this" He insists "it makes it stop..."
Kayle has mellow cream and her face is red and wet with tears, she still cries and hiccups and cries some more...well her lungs are good..real good.
Flicktail smiles as the meadow cream coats her mouth to keep the hot root from burning
Kayle cries and just wants water also, The mellow creame helps a little, her mouth still hurts and burns some as big tears go down her face
Flicktail offers her a glass of water
Kayle drinks the water down and sniffs, hot root was not her best plan, she glares at the now EVIL cookies “Apple walnut Hot Root Cookies is EVILLLLLL!”
Flicktail says, "Hmm well ya learned something"
Lacota comes in with a mop, bucket and cleaning rag.
Kayle has finally stopped having a burning mouth, she tries to slip out..she is almost Free! But then the friar returns with a mop and bucket and she frowns, a rag is given too and she cleans up her mess and then once done and its spotless clean she walks over to a corner and curl up to sleep.
Flicktail goes to carry her to a bed in the dibbun dorms.
Kayle rolls over in bed and...well keeps sleeping and hopefully not dreaming of those horrible Apple Walnut Hot Root Cookies!!...
