Kentar's Cabin

Amethyst is bored and tired of sitting in her wheeled chair and not being able to walk. In an effort to cheer her up Will offer to go with her to look around the village. She agrees and soon the pair are off, but not before Will writes down a note so the others will know where they are.

Amethyst rolls her eyes as she waits for Will to finish the note, "I doubt he'd do much if we didn't leave a note. Other than worry."

Will ignores the maid and signs the note even though she's probably right in that Aikuen isn't as likely to do much to her since she's hurt but even with a broken arm he's not convinced the otter wouldn't do anything to him. The rat sits a rock on the note so it won't get lost and wheels Amy out of the cabin and toward the main part of the village.

Village

Amethyst request that Will take her around passed the shops to pass the time. About noon she leaves him for a while to find something for them to eat wanting to surprise him.

Will wanders past the vendors as he waits for the maid unaware of what she's planning.

Amethyst wheels herself around the food vendors stalls taking in all the different smells before zeroing in on one very familiar smell, the smell of roasting meat. The rat beings to drool, it's been over a season since she last had the all too rare chance to have meat. She is quick to buy some for herself and Will as well from the vendor-beast and soon sets off, with her lunch already half down her throat, to return to Will.

Will blinks a few times trying to make sense of what he sees when Amy returns. He has never eaten meat except once when he was very young and starving and after being sick from it he'd decided never to eat another beast no matter how hungry he was again. He has no idea what Amy is eating but she sure likes it whatever it is. "Uh, find something good?" he ask chuckling at her as her portion is nearly gone already.

Amethyst finishes her meal and makes a face at Will or tries to anyway. She passes the other skewer to him, "Try it. It's really good."

Will shrugs and takes the meat on a stick from her but continues to look at it questioningly. "What /is it/?" he asks.

Amethyst grins, "Try it first, then I'll tell you."

Will doesn't like the sound of that but it can't be that bad if she was eating it he figures and takes a bite. He has never had anything like this before and he likes it. He still has no idea what he's eating but he likes it, a lot. "This is really good," he smiles over at the maid as he eats.

Amethyst smirks, "Though you'd like it. Don't get food like that too often, but it's better than anything else out there wouldn't you agree?"

Will chuckles gnawing on the left over stick to get all the meat off it, "I don't know. It is good, but I like lots of other stuff too. Don't know if it's better than /everything/ else but it /is/ really good."

Amethyst nods, "So you like it right? Still want to know what it is?"

Will grins, "Yes I liked it and yes I want to know what it was. Might help if I want t get it again some time."

Amethyst smiles triumphantly, "Glad you liked it. That my dear William was roasted sparrow, on a stick. It was a hard decision to pick what kind of meat to buy but this is as good as any other bird meat. Though nothing beats mouse in my opinion but that's just me." The blind and crippled maid looks very pleased with herself.

Will had still been smiling when the maid started explaining but his smile quickly turns to a frown and he takes on an ashen tone under his fur. "I-I'll be right b-back," he murmurers suddenly as what he'd just eaten hits him and he dashes off to be sick.

Amethyst blinks, "Uh ok. That was strange," she comments puzzled by her beau's running off.

Aikuen is sitting at the park again, watching some of the street performers with their acrobatics, and dancing. Trying to get a few coins for their living. The otter is semi paying attention as he continues to chip out the engraving on the rock, to give to Fira, on their anniversary. Aik puts down his tiny chisel and claps as one of the numbers end, and he tosses in few coins for the mouse. He chuckles and looks to Fira, "That was good eh?" Fira sleeps on, lounging against his side, a small smile on her face, and a paw on her bump, which has gotten a lot bigger over the past few days. Aik grins, and is about to go back to his craft when something catches in the side of his eye. He blinks and looks up, just getting the end of Will running off toward an alley way. He seems in a hurry. Aik blinks and looks to Fira, and rubs her side, "Hey Fi... Fiiiiiiiraaaaaaa...." she blinks awake and looks to him. He plants a small one on her and says, "Here, Ill be back shortly..." he takes a few gold coins from his pouch,

and pockets them, to leave the rest to her, "Love you... Be back soon!" he winks, and he is off to follow Will. He generally follows him into the empty alley, and here the sound of retching. He blinks and catches up, "Will? Is everything alright?" he continues to follow the sound of retching.

Will stays sitting on paws and knees in the alleyway with his back facing the way he came in. The alley goes go a way before joining some other street. The rat wipes his muzzle with the back of a paw slowly muttering quietly to himself trying to make sense of what had happened now that he's mostly recovered though he still looks pale. "... she didn't know. Not that surprising that she'd do something like that. She said she ate things like that. ... Should have know she really meant it. *sigh* ... I shouldn't have left her there but ...." he growls a little at himself for abandoning Amy though he didn't have much choice. He flinches at the voice behind him before relaxing a little, "Oh, just Pa," he tells himself shifting to sit on his knees now. "I'm ... I ... ate something that I regretted eating," he explains not sure how much he should tell the otter.

Aikuen walks up to Will, and tries not look behind the rat. He kneels down and pulls out a clean handkerchief and wipes a bit of his sons mouth that he missed. Than hands the the whole thing to Will to clean his paws, "I can tell... You feeling alright, now?... or you think that... you wont be able to hold it?" he asks first, then he'll ask questions about what he ate later.

Will takes the handkerchief and wipes his mouth and paw off, "Thanks. ... I think I'm ok now."

Aikuen nods and smiles, patting the rat on the shoulder, "Good!" he stands back up, and dusts off his knees, "So Will? What did you eat, to make you sick..." he asks.

Amethyst is still unaware as to why Will ran off. They had been having a good time and he'd clearly enjoyed the spurise lunch she gotten them. The blind maid is very confused as to why he's been gone so long but thinks he may have gone to buy something or maybe he got distracted on the way back from wherever he'd gone to. Had she a lute she'd play it but as it is she just wonders as she waits.

Will scrunches up the handkerchief as he gets to his feet and starts to leave the alley. "Amy bought something she really liked for our lunch and I don't eat that so guess my stomach wasn't used to it and ..." he shrugs a little know wanting to say what it was he ate since he's sure it would get Amy in trouble.

Aikuen tilts his head at Will and follows behind him, placing his paw on his back. Aik will have to know what it is eventually. Better to tell him now, then later. He sighs and says, "What exactly did Amy buy, that your stomach wasn't used too..." he asks, and may pester later.

Will chews on his lip trying to think of a good way to tell the otter since he knows he'll keep asking if he doesn't tell him. "... Um, you're an otter an you eat fish and fish is alive before you kill it an cook it an eat it. Some beasts eat um things that aren't fish and used t be alive and uh Amy's one of those kind of beasts." He waits a moment before adding, "I knew she was like that cause she told me when we met but I didn't think she really meant it and later I believed her but we were at home and she ate th same things we did so it wasn't a problem then. ... If I'd known what it was first I wouldn't have eaten it. She likes eating that kind of stuff and was trying t be nice and .... I'm gonna tell her not t do that anymore , not t get that stuff of me anymore and couldn't ask her not t eat it too but I ... Please don't do anything to her."

Aikuen stops walking as he puts the puzzle pieces together. He blinks, and hmms, before continuing on after Will. He blinks at the last part, "Do anything? Why should i do anything? There is nothing i can do if she..." he takes a deep breath to keep from gagging, "eats... other... beasts..." he sticks out his tongue, in disgust. He takes a deep breath again, "But if she is going to live with us, she will have to learn to go without it..."

Will sighs, "She was just trying t be nice. She does live with us and this is th first time she's done something like that since I met her."

Aikuen nods a little bit, "I guess. At least this is the first i've heard that she she even... did that... sort of thing. Anyway, its okay. I'm not mad, just concerned. And as long as she doesn't do it... around me. Or at Moledeep... I'm... Okay, I guess" he scratches the back of his head.

Will nods and keeps walking out of the alley and into the park area.

Amethyst had gotten bored with waiting and a little hungry as well. Since she has no way of know when Will will return and the meat vendor is nearby she goes off to get a snack to tide her over while she continues to wait.

Aikuen blinks at Will, from behind him. And shrugs it off. Hopefully it will all work out. When they get back to the park area, Aik leaves Will, and goes off on a tangent back over to Fira, who is watching a fire thrower. Aik plops down and wraps an arm around her, giving her noticeable bump a light pat and a chuckle. Fira sticks her tongue out at him, before going back to munch on a 'fish on a stick' that a vender passed by with had. Aik kisses her when she takes a bite of it, and he munches on her bite after he pulls away. Fira ecks and nudges him, before going back to watch the fire thrower.

Will continues on to find Amy - eating meat on a stick again. He frown and chooses not to say anything just yet. He'll try and talk to her about it later.

Amethyst almost halfway through her second treat and she's singing, for free even, as she wait for Will's return. "... 'Neath the rowan and alder a vigil I'll keep, every moment you are away. .." she stops sings as some beast starts to push her chair from behind. "Hey!" she cries out not knowing who it is yet.

Will stops when the maid yells at him. "Sorry. Didn't mean to startle you. ... you /really/ shouldn't eat that, it'll just upset th others." He omits the fact that it upsets him as well and resumes pushing her chair.

Amethyst blinks a little confused since he'd been so quiet and didn't say why he'd been gone. "I'll be finished with it before we get back," she shrugs, "If it bothers the water-dogs so much we just won't eat it around them."

Will continues to frown as he pushes Amy's chair around trying to find a clear path back to the cabin since it's gotten rather crowded around the marketplace now. He move to an opening in the mass of beasts and the pair head off toward the park were it's only a little clearer as the day draws toward evening.

Amethyst is obvious of Will's frown being blind but he is being very quiet, "Are you mad about something or just thinking really hard?" she asks at length tossing the leftover skewer from her snack to the side as they go on their way. "You're being very quiet and those are the only reason I know of that would make you /this/ quiet for so long."

Will remains quiet a while longer not really seeing anything they pass or where they're going as he doesn't seem to be going toward the cabin so much anymore as forward wherever that may take them. Thankfully he's going slowly so they aren't too likely to crash into anything or anybeast. He chews on his lower lip before answering, "I'm not mad at you. Not really. I'm a little mad at myself for not telling you I don't eat that stuff like you like t eat. And you shouldn't eat it either it'll just cause trouble if you do. My parents won't like it if you were t start a habit of doing that. Do you understand?"

Amethyst nods a little, "Ok, ... so you just look like a rat. I might as well be marri- married to a woodlander," she corrects herself remembering that the village thinks they're already married. "You /say/ you don't like eating meat and yet if I recall correctly you enjoyed our lunch together very much til I told you what it was and you run off somewhere and were gone for a long time. I've told you before I like meat, it taste good. I don't get it very often and when I do it never the really good stuff like mouse but just bird or they'll say it's mouse or something really nice and it turn out it wasn't and I'm out a good amount of coins over something that I could have gotten for almost nothing. I will be good and not eat nice things in front of water-dogs and even in front of you if I must but if I can get it I will." The maid is now out of sorts and she'd been having such a nice day too.

Both otters groan softly, and happily. Not a care in the world. Just glad to be with each other, under the darkening skies. They eventually pull away from each other, though not happy about it, and Aik places his nose on hers so he can look deep into her eyes. He grins and nuzzles her before saying, "Your very lovely tonight... Like always..." he chuckles quietly and was about to go back to what he enjoys, when something catches in his ears behind him. He blinks and looks behind, then back at Fira, who was all ready to go back. Aik chuckles and shakes his head, and just gives her a quick one before saying, "The rats arrive, I do believe... They're talking about..." he sighs and looks behind him, and says, "That's otters. I don't call you vermin, do I?" he sighs and looks back to Fira, and mouths something. She blinks and frowns, but eventually looks away to keep from reading them. Aik did that, so she wont be sick at the next conversation. He sighs and says to Amy, "Look Amy... I know you eat meat.

That's fine. But you will not eat it at Moledeep. Don't even bring that stuff near the home. I'm asking you, to do this for me... That's it..." he sighs

Will had been about to remind Amy that they were 'otters' when Aikuen spoke up. He'd been dimly aware that there was a couple near by and they were otters but he'd been too busy talking to Amy to pay any attention to them not that he would have anyway but it dawns on him just who the two otters /are/ at the sound of his father's voice. He just stand there ear red just blinking stupidly as his mind tries to processes this information.

Amethyst doesn't really care what the otters were doing and turns her head to face Aikuen's voice. "I don't believe I was talking to you Aikuen and I just said I wouldn't eat any meat around you or Fira or did you not hear that part somehow? Also I already don't eat any meat at Moledeep as it is and unfortunately that isn't likely to change. I won't eat meat when at Moledeep or around certain beasts. Now that I've been talked to, you may go back to whatever it was you were doing." She pokes at Will, "I think you broke him."

Will has since gotten a hold of himself and turned around watch the stars come out trying to act as if he hadn't seen the otters.

Aikuen eyes her, "When you mention anything about us. Even behind our backs. You're talking to us. And I did hear that part. And I am glad that you aren't. There is soon to be a little otter..." he then sighs, " Or maybe a litter of otters... running around and I don't want them to get the idea, that eating meat is normal. I'm sorry, but that's not what we want for our child... or kits..." he sighs, and smiles a little, "Thank you Amy. I appreciate that... very much" he then looks behind her a bit to look at Will. He chuckles and gets what's happening "Heya Will! What? Think you would be used to it by now!" he laughs.

Will's right ear moves toward Aik's voice but the rat stays where he is with his back to the otters looking up at the sky, "Hi. I /did/ see you ... just didn't know it was /you/." He blinks and turns back around after a moment, "So there could be more than one little otter?" he asks curiously.

Aikuen looks behind him, back at Fira. She is still not paying attention, just tapping her claws against the table, seeming annoyed that she cant understand what they are saying. Which is good, for the older otter, "Well... I don't know... I mean... I've seen what a single kit looks like before... and her bump... is a little... more rotund than what is usually should be right now ... plus her... cyc-..." he stops and looks at Amy, and goes a different route, "Her timing is a bit more off now. Also she has been eating a lot. Even for a pregnant otter..." he sighs, "It makes since. But maybe were just having a big otter for a kit..." he chuckles, "You never know... OH! and the kit will most likely be born within the next month... just thought you ought to know!" he grins and becomes alarmed, "Don't tell her, or ask about it... just forget i even told you. I didn't even tell her what i have been noticing... Don't want her to worry, over something, that might not be...."

Will nods smiling not quiet understanding all of what the otter is saying but getting enough of it to understand that there may or may not be more than one little otter on the way and he or they might come soon but nothing should be said to Fira. "Ok, Pa. I won't say anything." He wheels Amy off again before she can say anything, it looks like they're heading back toward the cabin at last. Will waves a little at the otters as he leaves calling back, "Don't stay out /all/ night."

Aikuen chuckles at Will, and waves, "See yah Will... Amy! Night!" he grins and kisses Fira on the back of her neck to get her attention. Her back arches at the kiss, and she turns about to frown at Aik for keeping her in the dark for so long. Aik shrugs and gives her the gist of what went down. Telling her what happened, but leaving at the little details that might make her sick, or make her start to worry about something else now. She rolls her eyes going to flop against his side, watching as some firebugs lazily fly through the air. After a bit most of the couples begins to leave, except for the otters, and few select others, to listen to the viola player. The otters continue to sit at the table. Paws clasps, and Aik sampling some Fira neck. Its a nice night out...
