Salamandastron: Infirmary

Despite the miracle worker that is Rahier's special mixture of herbs, one cannot lose an eye without some discomfort. It is strange, though, that it is not so much her eye that is bothering her as it is her paw. The damaged finger has been bandaged up and splinted to the one beside it, and it is putting up a dull ache. The Colonel is sitting up on a cot with said paw cradled in her lap, squeezing at the wrist as if that will relieve some of the throbbing pump of blood into the extremity.

"Get a move on ye brat 'n stop yer cryin'." "Leave me alone." "Talkin' back eh?" "Ooow!" And then suddenly a very trembly young doe is shoved into the infirmary, left paw held close to her form, sending a glance back towards a snickering rat who disappears down the hall again. Breathing a sigh, Sadie surveys the infirmary, eyes widening slightly when the Colonel is spotted. Eep.

Hum? Zoe's attention is briefly diverted from her close study of her paw by the sounds coming from outside. Just in time to see Sadie stumble in through the door. Her eyebrows raise, but there's a bunch of bandaging over her damaged eye, so it looks like a one-eyebrowed quirk. Mm-hm. She shifts to the edge of the cot, setting her feet to the ground. The guards set to watch her have moved themselves outside into the hallway.

Sadie seems frozen with fear, eyes locked on the Colonel who is one eyed because of her now or that's what she's been told repeatedly by the evil guards downstairs. She finally breaks out of her daze, when she sees the older doe actually scoot to the edge of the cot. "Um..you don't have to get up. I'm just suppose to find a healer." Sadie offers quietly, taking a hesitant step forward.

"... Well." She looks around, pausing before she stands. "Looks like yer stuck with... me." Since the infirmary's empty. She offers a faint smile that is edged with pain though she tries to hide it, and stands from the cot. And she only sways a /teensy/ bit, mm-hm, as she comes forward. "What's happened to yer arm, deah?" She certainly doesn't sound like she's planning to launch into accusations.

Sadie warms up slightly at the lack of yells coming her way, moving a few steps closer to Zoe. Her eyes trail to the bandage on the doe's face, the hint of a frown beginning to appear, gaze dropping back down to the floor. "They smashed my wrist with something." And, indeed her left wrist is swollen and purplish.

The door to the infirmary opens and three rats walk in, the one out front is the Sgt. Higear, he frowns at both does and begins to walk towards them, not saying anything for now just watching.

Zoe_Lang's ears flatten back at the sight of the swollen wrist. She moves forward to meet Sadie and then turns, starting to lead her toward the supply area where an examination table sits. This is when the rats enter, and over to them she glances. Froooown. "Why doncha have a seat, deah?"

Ergh, more rats. Sadie keeps her gaze on the floor, following along beside Zoe though her head lifts a smidgeon to glance at the table. Bobbing her head, she jumps up to sit atop the table, swollen wrist moving down to rest on her lap. "Sorry about your eye."

Higear walks up slowly towards the does and echoes Sadie in his gruff rodent voice. "Aye sorry about your eye, his lordship Roreck was most upset over it you are valuable to him."

"I amuse him. Wouldn't exactly call that 'value'." This is murmured almost absently in response to the rat as she goes about gathering supplies to tend the younger doe's paw. It takes her a little longer than usual without the use of one of her paws, but once she's gathered them all together she returns to sit before Sadie on a stool, offering a faint smile and a shake of her head. "Nothin' to be sorry about, deah. You've done just as ya ought." Mm-hm. She holds out her paw, then. "Now let's see this."

Sadie chances a quick glance towards Higear, ears tipping back as her eyes fall back to her lap. The doe tries to contain her fidgeting, having just one of her footpaws bounce boredly as she waits. At Zoe's return, Sadie holds out her offended wrist, offering a teeny weeny smile. "Kay."

Higear shakes his head which sends the chains tangled through his filthy, greasy headfur to swaying. "Whether you like it or not is not important, your going to stay in this room from now on. There will be three guaards outside at all times so don't try anything funny."

"If you're keepin' me up here, why doncha bring up /all/ the injured hares so I c'n treat their wounds? There's only so much the healah c'n do down there." That's reasonable, right? The Colonel examines the wrist carefully, turning it over

this way and that with her paw touching to Sadie's forearm. "Rotate it for me, deah?"

Sadie perfectly still, trying her best to keep her trembles in check as she avoids the rat's eyes. She bobs her head, beginning to turn her wrist to the left only to stop with a pained squeak. "..I can't."

Higear smiles at Zoe and chuckles, "Not within me power old one, only Lord Toroth can command tha, an besides you think we'd jist hand ye all over so ye can group together? If yer lucky he may let em up one at a time and then once yer done we'll ship em back down."

Zoe_Lang nods to Sadie, offering her a reassuring smile. "Figured s'much. Ya wouldn't need fixin' othahwise, righ'?" She turns away briefly, to prepare a poultice quickly, which she then places gently over the doe's wrist. "T' help with the swellin'," she explains. It is then secured by bandages which are tight but not too tight and evently spaced, despite Zoe's one-eyed and one-pawed state. But by the time she's tying off the knot, using a finger on her damaged paw to hold it in place, there's a minute tremble in her arms. She quickly finishes and stands back from the stool. "Do me a favah, eh? Ask Lord Toreth about that. Or mayhaps I'll just blind m'othah eye 'n' really piss off yer good friend the marten."

Sadie is then given a nod and a smile. "I'm goin' t' rest, deah. Sit 'n' rest on a cot fer a bit, all righ'?" And with a wink which she hopes is comforting but which is really just odd looking with one eye, she turns and limps slowly back to her cot, sinking down onto it. Her back is turned to them, and her head bows, one paw pressing gently to her forehead above the bandaging. She says no more, and sighs.
