(Poor) Rascal gets the ever-living wits scared out of him, and then Lily and (poor) Cynthia have a face-off!!! (A Redwall Log)

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

In which LilyMoore bites Cynthia. Yeah. Not kidding. My character has issues. XP

Redwall Abbey Second Orchard

Foxes: Rascal, male.

Mice: LilyMoore, female. Emyuil, male. Cynthia, female. Angela, female.

Squirrels: Random spoofed Dibbuns. A random spoofed Order Sister.

Voles: Random spoofed Dibbuns.

Badgers: Oz, male.

Given the abbey's reputation of being a beacon for woodlander safety most travelers stopping in for food and warmth are surprised to see a bright red colored fox shoveling snow from walk ways around the abbey entrances. Eventually the beast makes his way into the second orchard, casting snow left and right from the walk ways.

The wool coat bundled tightly around his figure did little to hide the fact that some honest labor has been good for the vulpine. Gone were the stubborn rolls of fat clinging to his belly and sides, gone were his fleshy hips. He was even starting to put a little bit of muscle to his arms.

Not that he would ever admit to manual labor being good for him. His fur seems, frazzled, more so with his winter coat set in. And his tail twitches behind him most nervously.

The foxie is about to be surprised! Like a wraith, LilyMoore steps out from behind a sleeping peach tree, wrapped in a thick green cloak and bundled up in fuzzy orange hat, scarf, and mittens. "Hello!" she says cheerily as she smooths down the skirt of her dress.

Some dibbuns are out, and they see the fox and giggle. It's two squirrels and they are in the trees, snow balls of doom in their paws and they let them fly at the fox "Get the fox" "Yeah !!!" Hmmms are there other dibbuns around?

First the fox reacts to the mouse. Panicking and stepping back with his shovel ready to defend himself. "GAH! It was broke when I got there! I sw-...wait, sorry, confused you for someone el-"

THWACK THWACK! Rascal falls to one knee under the assault of the snow balls. "The heck?!"

LilyMoore ducks behind the tree again. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare y--" Then the snowballs arrive. Looking around, she spots the little squirrels and grins wickedly. Kneeling, she makes a couple of snowballs. "Oi, you twos with the faces!" She calls, then she lobs the snowballs at the Dibbuns, hoping they don't fall and get hurt. Does she hear more Dibbuns somewhere close by?

The two dibbun squirrels giggle and launch more snowballs from the tree they are in and giggle again. Also seems like the two dibbuns have skipped class as Oz has come looking for them "Connor...Ray...where are you..." And one snowball hits him in the face as he brushes it off and a gasp is heard from one of the trees and giggling stops for now. One dibbun is hit with a snowball from the mouse but they don't fall, its a vole dibbun. Hmms mischievous dibbuns.

The fox twitches a foot paw from the small pile of snow he is now covered in. Standing up and brushing himself off Rascal thrusts the shovel into the snow bank to his right. "You want to a snow ball fight? Alright, I'll learn ya..." Using the shovel like a catapult he launches a pile of snow at the tree in a sort of scatter bomb snow ball effect.

And never once see's Oz in the background until after he does so. "O-Oz!"

LilyMoore gasps, too, and hides behind the tree....then remembers that, oh yeah, Oz is blind, so that won't exactly work. "Hi, Papa Oz!" She calls, deciding to admit that she's here. "Um, are any of the Dibbuns in trouble? I can help you find them."

If they aren't then Rascal might well be! He eeps once then bounds away, dropping the shovel as he flees potential badger punishments for tossing snow balls at his beloved dibbuns. "IEEEEE!"

As the Dibbuns bid a hasty retreat, Lily comes out from behind the tree and, grabbing the shovel, follows the fox. "Hey, wait, where're you goin'? I think it'll be okay!" Chasing the already nervous and terrified fox /with a shovel/ may not be the best and nicest idea in the world.

Indeed! The fox gives the mouse one glance then proceeds to run FASTER, letting out a terrified yelp. It's finally happened, the Redwallers have turned feral! The fox was doomed for sure! But wow could he sprint now. At least until he trips over a hidden log, planting him firmly in the snow face first.

"OwWWwWWwwWWw"

LilyMoore (finally) realizes what she (accidentally) did to the poor fox's mind and sets the shovel down behind an apple tree. Cautiously approaching the vulpine, she says hesitantly, "Hey, you okay? I'm sorry for scaring you; I didn't mean to. Are you okay? Do you need a Healer?" She just happens to be related to one.....well, 2, technically, but only one of them is here at the Abbey at the moment....

The fox rolls onto his rump and let's out a loud high pitched wail, "AIIIIIEIIEEEEEEEeeeeaAAAAa-and you aren't going to hurt me?" He blinks, "Oh, well ok then." The fox bounds to his feet, dusting himself off. "No harm no foul. Nothing hurt by my ego."

LilyMoore stares at the fox, mouth open wide, a bit shocked at the sudden transformation. "Um...uh, no, I'm, uh, not going to hurt you....at least not on purpose." She gets the shovel. "I just didn't want you to get in trouble for leaving this behind." She smiles, her honesty evident on her face.

Rascal never did trust an honest face. Not completely. Just means they were better trained at lying. He laughs anyway, "Oh, gee thanks. Now I can get back to shoveling...again." He laughs in a way that suggests that inside, he isn't actually laughing. And then the fox sneezes and he laughs again, "Maybe I can convince them that I'm coming down with a cold and can't work, right?"

Emyuil walks out to the second orchard. He'd had lunch with LilyMoore the previous day, but hasn't had a chance to tell her something. He passes between the trees quietly, his tattered cloak wrapped around him and his scabbard absent from his back. He walks up to his niece and waits for her to finish her conversation before speaking.

LilyMoore grins at the fox. "Nah, they'd still make you work. Even if you're dead, they'll make your ghost guard the walls." Oh, now she's just being cheeky. "Oh, hi, Nuncle Emmy," she adds as she goes to give him a huge hug. "Where's your scabbard?"

The fox chuckles at the thought, but then asks, "Wait? really?" The beast sneezes again off to the side and away from the others.

Cynthia is out for a walk, maybe even looking for someone but that's unclear just yet. She has on a warm cloak and her usual shirt and pants, like always.

Emyuil embraces Lily, laughing and going to ruffle her headfur fondly. "Back in the weapon lockers. Decided that Nevermore deserved better than lying around wrapped in cloth. By the way, I forgot to tell you something at lunch yesterday."

LilyMoore smiles in an almost evil manner as she tells the fox, "Possibly...." Then, giggling, she looks up at her uncle and says cheerfully, "Oh. I think that's a good decision. What did you forget to say?" She has yet to notice the other mousemaid, but when she does, it'll probably not be pretty.

Deciding to leave the [mice] to their own devices Rascal makes a hasty retreat before turning and almost running over the second mouse maid, "Oh! So sorry." He steps aside to let Cynthia pass by.

Emyuil breathes in and out slowly, then says, "I'm going to try to heal the scars." He waits for his niece's reaction tentatively.

Cynthia gasps as the fox barely misses her as she ducks, just barely and frowns, "Well...he was sure in a hurry."

The fox bows his head as if tipping a un seen hat. "Take care." Before moving back towards the kitchens.

LilyMoore gasps as a smile of pure joy and delight floods over her face. Grabbing at her uncle's paws, she goes to twirl him around with her, she's just so happy! "Oh, Uncle Emyuil, that's wonderful!!!" She then goes to give him a huge hug again, still not noticing Cynthia.

Emyuil laughs, long and happy, releasing all the angst and uncertainty he's had over the past few days. He holds Lily's paws strongly in his own scarred ones, and goes to lift her up and spin her around exhiliratedly. No words, just a smile.

Cynthia watches the two seemly twirl around and lets them have their together time.

LilyMoore laughs hysterically as he picks her up and spins her around. "Hahaha, Nuncle Emmy, put me down, hahaha--YOU!" she glares at the other mousemaid, then loses sight of her, her happy mood suddenly tainted by her great dislike of the other mousemaid. Her smile fades away, mostly.

Emyuil cautiously sets down LilyMoore. "Everything okay?" he whispers. "We can leave if you want."

Cynthia blinks as she walks over to the other mousemaid "You ok?" She studies her closely "I've, seen ya before"

Ignoring her uncle, Lily narrows her eyes at the other mousemaid. "You can bet you've seen me before!! Perhaps you remember Caleb? How you tricked him to follow you out of the Abbey and he, like, almost got himself KILLED or something, /because of you/?! Yeah, well, I'm his twin sister, and I DON'T appreciate you MESSING WITH MY BROTHER!!" she takes a threatening step closer to the other female mouse. "Do me a favour and STAY AWAY FROM MY BROTHER! Forever!!"

Cynthia blinks at this "W...what do you mean trick him, I would never trick Caleb he's my friend. And I am NOT going to stay away from him you're just being mean" She says "Caleb is safe in the abbey."

Emyuil glances between the mousemaids. Even though he doesn't know the whole story he's partial to siding with his niece, naturally. "But he might not have been," he interjects. "Do you have any idea how dangerous Mossflower is?"

"He followed you out of the Abbey by making a rope out of sheets!! Why would he do that unless somebeast, like, tricked him or talked him into that??" Forget the fact that Lily has done some pretty bad things that were totally her own idea and no one else had any influence over her decision. And that she hasn't actually asked her brother why he left. Forget the fact that she's just jumping to conclusions. "And yeah, he's safe here NOW, but not when he followed you OUT INTO MOSSFLOWER!!!"

Cynthia shakes her head "I made the bed sheet thing and told him to not follow me and, he was gonna talk me outta leaving and maybe it would of worked had Kyran not showed up to grab us both." She, for now, is controlling her temper.

LilyMoore narrows her eyes, steps closer, goes to grab the front of the other mousemaid's tunic, and tries to bring her nose mere centimetres away from Cynthia's. She grates out in a voice that indicates that she's THIS close to throwing punches/kicks/bites, "Give me ONE /good/ reason why I should believe you, you......twiddle-pawed, crinky-tailed little...little.....insect!!" And the name-calling begins.

Cynthia was not expecting to be grabbed and her self defense kicks in as she...well kicks the other mousemaid "Let GO OF ME!!!" She frowns "I wouldn't lie and as I said Caleb is my friend."

Emyuil is about to tell Lily to calm down, then he sees the kick and his eyes flash. Suddenly, he's not nice Nuncle Emmy anymore. Suddenly, he's another beast he knows all too well. In an instant, his voice is raised into a thunderous roar and his dark eyes are full of fury. "BACK OFF, NOW!" In the blink of an eye he's between the two other mice, staring daggers at Cynthia as his paws clench and unclench, shaking with the effort of restraining himself.

"HOW DO I KNOW THAT--OOF!" LilyMoore gets kicked, and she goes to punch the other mousemaid. "YOU BACK OFF!!!!" she yells at her uncle as she ducks under him and goes to bite Cynthia on the ear while she goes to kick her in the shins. Because /no fighting in the Abbey/ is a stupid rule, and stupid rules are made to be broken. Right? Right.

Cynthia only kicked in self defense, and the shock of seeing Emyuil, something flashes in her memory and he is someone else to her, "Noo!" She is punched in the face and gets a black eye and then bite on the ear as she goes to back off now in tears of fear and pain, she gto curl up in a ball as blood drips down her ear and she starts breathing in and out in gasps "Nooo...noooo stay away, don't kill me...help me...HELP ME!!!" She is gasping and crying and shivering."Noo.....please!"

For one, brief, terrible moment, all that's visible in Emyuil's eyes is grim, wicked satisfaction. Then reality sets back in and Cynthia is freaking out on the ground in front of him. "Lily, get somebeast out here," he directs in a tone that will suffer no argument.

But the argument comes anyway! "NO!! IT'S ALL HER FAULT!!! She tricked Caleb into going out into Mossflower!!!" Lily's eyes have a tiny bit of a red mist to them, and she is beyond angry. And hateful. But then! "LILYMOORE LOUISE!!!!" Angela's voice can be heard as she comes into view, a concerned Order Sister walking alongside her, pointing. They're too far away for the 3 mice to hear what the squirrel Sister is saying. Lily's eyes clear, and then she gasps and covers her mouth with both paws, horrified. "Oh, no......"

Cynthia is still gasping a little, has a black eye and a bruised cheek. Also a bloody ear from the bite and is shivering now. Tears of fear and pain flood down her cheeks as she tries to get up to move and groans as she passes out, well least her breathing will get back to normal in a little while.

Emyuil glances in concern at Lily, noticing a bit of redness to her eyes that shouldn't just be from emotion. "Come on, they can help her. Let's get you out of here," he says gently. He goes to steer her away.

Angela comes hobbling up and goes to tap her grandson with her staff. "Not 'appenin', Emyuil. LilyMoore Louise, /what/ 'ave you got to say for yourself??!" She bends down and begins checking Cynthia, trying to see how badly she was hurt. As Lily begins trying to explain, tears coursing down her cheeks and a sob catching her voice, the old Healer scowls at her and snaps, "Go to the Gate'ouse and stay there until I say ye can leave." The young mouse nods and walks away miserably, obeying her great-grandmother without argument. As the Order Squirrel goes to try and take Cynthia to the Infirmary, Angela stands and murmurs to her grandson, "What did 'er eyes look like?" The urgency in her voice brooks no arguments or hesitation or anything. She is requiring a short and immediate answer.

"Red. Misted reddish-pink," Emyuil says quietly. The same redness was present in his own eyes, and he doesn't seem aware of it. "And for the record," he growls, "Cynthia struck the first blow."

Cynthia is easily lifted up. She is unconscious but luckily nothing is broken, but she will have a black eye and bruised face, the ear will heal but swell some.

Angela purses her lips. "I suggest ye write down a full account of what 'appened as soon as possible, and if ye don't want me tannin' Lily's /and your/ hides, ye'll not spare any details to make Lily look good." She sighs as she watches the Order Sister do her best to take the unconscious mouse to the Infirm. "I fear Lily may 'ave inherited your grandfather's temperment...not my 'usband. David. Your other grandfather." she heads towards the Infirmary, calling back, "Don't go a-visitin' Lily until I've talked with her, thank you." and then Emyuil is most likely left alone in the orchards.

Emyuil lowers his gaze. "Got it." He bristles a bit at the 'don't go visiting her' part, but he recognizes and defers to his grandmother's wisdom. He heads off, his exhilarated mood of a little while ago all but dead.

Oh, shanp, Lily is in trouble :O Thanks for reading!
