"Yeah. I'm not kidding."

Xia is stopped short by the ferret pulling her back. She makes a shocked expression towards the bodyguard and then the snake. Basilisk for his part makes a stunned expression towards the fox and then the cat on top of his head, realizing that all street cred he may have about being a terrifying monster of the woods is all but shattered. Basilisk whimpers, "Pleassse don't tell anyone about thisssssssss...ever..."

~Basilisk the snake and Xia the vixen. Blisa the cat and Ferdinand the ferret.

Life has been good to Basilisk. The young whiptail snake lays curled next to the fireplace of the Chieftain's home. perhaps his 'friends' over feed him on accident, perhaps they wish to keep the snake too full to try and eat someone, regardless the snake has grown long and wide. He is currently starting to shed his outlayer of skin simply due to the amount of mass he has put on from cheese bread. The snake lifts its head up towards the door after some beast knocks twice on it.

Blisa has been fighting with a piece of shed snakeskin that somehow got into her room. Already cranky from Ferdinand's new lessons on how to be a lady and a leader, she yells a couple of...let's say /colourful/ words and comes dashing out of her room, only to be met by her bodyguard, who yells at her about language and some such stuff. Before the kitten can holler back, the knocks resound on the door. Blisa would go answer it, but she yelps as the ferret bodily picks her up and tries to set her in the middle of the snake's coils, then storms over and opens the door. "Yeth?? What?" He is poufy and irritated looking. Don't tick him off more. Just a thought.

The snake begins to coil tightly around the kitten, "Good Morningssss...Blissssssa..." Basil replies as the door is opened to reveal a very portly brown furred vixen standing at the door. Xia already feels exposed after the guards outside made her give up her halberd. The fox leans back at the sour looking ferret and smiles nervously, "HI! This is the Scioto residence, right?"

Ferdinand smiles, trying to hide his 'sour' mood, very glad that he, the bodyguard, opened the door. Very glad, indeed. "Right. Um, pardon me, but do I know you? You look familiar." Blisa shoves a little moodily on the snake's side. "Not too tightly, please, Basil. And I hope you've been having a good morning so far..."

Basil looks at the kitten and smiles as he stops coiling around the cat, "Basssilisssk is jussst reminding you what time it issss," the snake points with his tail towards his mouth, just incase the kitten didn't get the hint. The fox at the door has yet to see the scene inside and leans forward again, holding out a paw to shake, "Sorry, it's been a while but I was that fox that helped save the chiefs daughter a while back. If I wasn't so busy these days I would have come sooner to check up on her. How is the little munchkin anyway?

Ferdinand smiles and shakes the proffered paw. "Ah, yeth. I remember now. Thank you for coming by to check on her. Blitha ith doing very well, thankth to you." Blisa is in a very foul mood, and when she's in such a mood, she wants to be as rebellious as possible. And so she does the most natural thing for her in this moment and scowls. "Y'know, I'm thinkin' maybe you should go on a diet. It's not good to have too much body fat on you; creatures have died from being overweight."

The snake replies by tightening his grip on the kitten, "Better to be fat and well fed...than thin and hungry..." The snake says with a smirk. He releases the cat from his grip and begins to uncoil raising to his full height next to the fire. The fox by the door nods, "Aye, glad to hear that. I was afraid the experience might traumatize the poor dibbun."

Blisa goes to latch onto the snakes neck and ride behind his head. "Don't threaten me..." she grumbles, unsheathing her claws a little. Ferdinand shrugs. "I think the'th alright. If the hath had nightmareth about it, the hathn't told me."

Basilisk grunts under the weight of the kitten on his head, "Bassilisssk is not a pony!" The snake complains but rolls his eyes and continues to slowly slither his way towards the kitchen. The food may not be healthy for the snake, but he must admit it is tasty. Meanwhile Xia nods in relief, "Glad to hear it. Would it be ok if I..." her eyes widen at the sight of the snake far behind the ferret. Instead of reacting like a normal beast and freaking out, Xia freaks out with style. The portly vixen moves forward, trying to grab the body guard to the side and rush into the room, "Look! out! Snake!"

Ferdinand sighs as he is shoved out of the way and goes to grab the back of the vixen's shirt. "Yeth, we have a pet thnake. Blitha ith trying to thivilithe him. Inthead we're jutht making him fat with thtew and cheethebunth." The kitten giggles. "Yes you are! You're my pony snake!" She gasps when the vixen dashes in and so does the least natural thing; clings tightly to the snake and wails, "Please don't kill my snake friend!!"

Blisa gulps as she looks between the fox, the ferret, and the whiptail snake. Her muscles start to complain about her cramped, tense position. Ferdinand simply nods wearily at the vixen. "Yeah. I'm not kidding."

The vixen takes in the sight and begins to giggle, cupping her paws to her mouth, then she clutches at her stomach and lays into a full on belly laugh at the oddity of it all...and to Basilisk's anger. The snake is of course less than pleased at this development. His gold eyes flash hot with rage and he begins to slither towards the fox. To heck with cheese bread, meat is back on the menu...

Both Ferdinand and Blisa see what's about to happen, and the ferret goes to tackle the vixen out of the way (he really, really hopes he's strong enough and heavy enough...he's all tall and wiry and muscles...) while the kitten goes to dig her claws into the snakes hide, screeching, "Oh, no you don't! She saved my life! I like her and you can't eat her!!!"

Basilisk however has murder in his eyes until the cat digs in her claws, "Sssshe laughed at me and...clawsssss CLAWSSSS!" the vixen in question makes an oof sound as the ferret tackles her. "There a reason your' on me ferret?" The fox growls dangerously at the ferret on top of her.

Ferdinand growls back, proving he's just as dangerous as she is. "The thnak wantht to eat you, /geniuth/." Has the word 'genius' ever been used so sarcastically? Blisa frowns, then lays her ears back and grumbles, "What if she apologizes? would that be enough?"

Basil replies by turning abruptly and heading into the kitchen. Lousy fox. She will pay for that. They will ALL PAY one day...as soon as dinner is served...and maybe tomorrow. As for the fox she narrows her eyes, "So I saw...now do you mind letting me up or should I just wait here until it gets hungry again?"

Ferdinand growls and stands up, brushing off his tunic. "Didn't want you killing the thnak...he'th the only thing keeping Blitha from getting deprethed about her aunt being killed. Excuthe me for trying to do my job." He opens the front door in an obvious invitation for the fox to leave, then enters the kitchen. Blisa, looking like she might cry, withdraws her claws and hugs the snake tightly, burying her face in his scales.

Xia rolls her eyes as she stands, "Well then, I guess I will come by when you lot have more time for company. Take care all." The fox walks out of the house shaking her head, tail swooshing gently behind her. What an odd family...
