From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Redwall Abbey's Great Hall....

Safana sits in one of the chairs here relaxing, or least trying to relax as a couple dibbuns are argueing, she opens her eyes and looks over at them, they are fighting over what appears to be the last cookie. "Mine!" "No mine!" She sighs and stands, achally scareing one of them as she takes the cookie and breaks it in two and gives each dibbun a half, and now they cry.."Mean lady break cookie!!"She sighs and luckyly a sister of the order takes the dibbuns away, she shakes her head, "Oh good grief..its offical dibbuns hate me"

Benar chuckles softly as he over-hears the comment and shakes his head, "Dibbuns hate anyone who does not let them get their own way." he smiles indulgently at the youngsters a the Sister leads them off. "But they do not hate they are too young to truly do so."

Safana turns and looks at the squirrel, "Hello, well I never got along with...little ones, never was any on the pirate ship, and I have a neice, one I have yet to see so not sure how that will go, if I am around still."

Benar says, "Your niece will love you, she is going to need all the support she can get with her mother gone my dear." He settles down in a chair and lays a tray he was carrying down on the table."

Safana nods as she listens "Heard about that, I just hope she is ok, if she isn't alright, well let's just say someone doesn't need more loss"

Benar sighs and nods, "I wish I could convince Scioto to send her here, Ferravale is vulnerable right now... we at least have our walls."

Safana frowns "You have not heard, have you? Blisa was taken captive by that fox the same day the village was attcked and Dazzle and Maxx were killed, she is a captive he can't send her anywhere"

Benar stares and sighs, "So that's what he wasn't telling me... I knew there was something. When last I spoke to Scioto he was pretending to have her with him."

Safana shakes her head, "He acts like he is fine, but don't think he is, yeah he is eatting and sleeping now, but few days after that attack he."She stops and frowns, "He wanted to die and supposely the only reason he didnt slit his own throat is some, get this, ghost mouse stoped him and chated with him...think he is a little bit..lost mental wise."

Benar chortles softly, "Ah I think he is fine if Martin is reaching out to him, he is a good beast and if Martin has touched him then all will be well Safana."

Safana shrugs, "Least he hasnt tried to harm himself again, so thats good"

Benar says, "Yes.. .very good and soon we'll have Blisa back I am sure..." he shakes his head and sighs sadly, "It is not a good time for him but he will get through."

Safana sits down finally, "Well someone needs to find the fox and take care of him befoe he or his followers hurt someone again, or ...kill someone"

Benar says, "Well I am sure they will take care of things Safana, have no fear we have warriors out there looking."

Safana folds her amrs over her chest, "Heard a dibbun was hurt couple days ago, that they are in the infirm due to those ravens, they weren't killed, well...dibbun wasn't, so sounds like your abbey beast should not go out in open areas."

The main door creaks open, and 1 of the resident warriors slowly enters. DoraRose looks around, her blue eyes sad, her face and stature canveying anxiousness and sorrow. She gives the creatures inside a small smile, but for now stays quiet.

Benar says, "Dora-Rose good day, come join us I have a pot of tea and some scones, you look like you need some."

Safana looks over at the mousemaid as she enters and waves, "Hello"

DoraRose sighs. Why does everybody else have to be so happy? She walks over and sits near the squirrel, managing a small smile. "Good day. Yes, I would like some tea, thank you."

Benar smiles at DoraRose, Benar is always happy he pours the tea and grins, "You probably haven't heard the news but you'll never guess who we have guesting in the dormitory?"

Safana leans back in her own chair and looks curious at the squirrel, yeah he is speaking to the mouse but that doesnt mean she is not curious still.

DoraRose smiles a little grumpily now (if that's possible). She's really not in the mood for games. "You're right. Who is guesting in our dormitories?"

Benar says, "My mother," he says simply, sliding a tea cup over to both of the ladies and sitting back, "Her name is Amarro and I have not seen her in many, many seasons."

Safana takes the tea and leans back, "Sounds intresting to have one's mother show up for a visit."

DoraRose looks down and stirs her tea, watching the amber liquid swirl around the spoon. "Yes, indeed, it does."

Benar says, "I've not seen her since I was six seasons old... we got seperated one day and lost one another... and now she has come here and we are together again."

Safana nods, simply listening, she tries the tea and sits it down on the table after a couple sips.

Alice flies in and looks for a good place to land, she finds a chair with no one in it and glaces around at the varies beasts in the room.

DoraRose sips her tea and sets it down on a nearby table, then looks up...and nearly falls out of chair with a strangled gasp as Alice the bat lands in a chair.

Benar jumps at the sound of wings and then smiles at Alice and waves his tail at the little bat, "Hello there little one, I wasn't ware we had a bat staying."

Safana looks at the bat, "Thought bats stayed in caves."

Alice looks at the cat and tilts her head, "Cave is gone gone now. So stays here for now"

As Benar is reaching for his tea pot and about to welcome Alice to the abbey probably he stops as voices shouting can be heard outside. Dark shapes flit past the windows and as the Elder stands up, tea-pot held in one hand someone screams and then something explodes with a soft THUMP sound that rattles the ancient windows of the abbey. For a moment Benar is still and frozen, staring at the windows that look out onto the southern side of the abbey grounds, alarm written on his face as the distant shout and hew and cry of.. "Fire" reaches the ears of those gathered inside the hall.

DoraRose stands, blue eyes flitting, all nerves on edge. Her voice is calm and steady as she starts rattling off commands/suggestions. "Benar, please take Alice somewhere safe. Get all the Brothers and sisters to get all the little ones there, also. I'm going to go see what's going on." She jogs out the door, fear an unknown word to her right now.

Safana frowns and her ears go flat agaist her head as the scream is heard and the rattleing happens, she stands and frowns as the mousemaid runs off, "Hey..where ya going! Some otter died couple days ago playing hero, get back here!"

Alice eyes go wide and she does what any normal dibbun would do, she hides under a chair and flattens her self agianst the wall and shivers in fear.

Benar bounds to his feet and hesitates, "Her fiance was kidnapped by the fox... Dora is taking reckless risks.. Safana please your sword may be needed... please do what you can to defend the abbey I'll get the little ones to safety." He looks outside at the windows as they rattle again, something else going THUMP as it explodes, smoke can be seen staining the sky on the other side of the windows now.

Outside, where the chaos is...oh, yeah, it's in the kitchen yard...

Outside is bedlam, controlled bedlam, the guards up on the wall tops are alternating facing inwards and outwards, bows twanging as they attempt to pick off the ravens attacking the abbey. The Kitchen Yard however is on fire... the forge is a raging inferno and the gardening store-room is also starting to burn and as extra guards from inside come racing from the direction of the cloisters another group of three ravens release the ropes they are carrying to drop a barrel on top of the Kiln's roof. It smashes through the tiles to crash onto the floor and explode, burning debris setting things alight inside. The ravens are flying in high.... almost out of range of the guards arrows and dropping the barrles onto the abbey out buildings.....

DoraRose is out here, her sword strapped to her side, sling in paw as she twirls it around, waiting...waiting...ah, there! A raven has flown just within range. The warriormouse lets the stone fly, a new stone in her sling as the first 1 hits the raven. She doesn't wait to watch it fall as she turns and faces another direction, screaming orders to the guards on the ground. "Get water and wet sacks, blankets, anything! Put the fires out down here!" she lets another stone fly...

Safana has gotten her blade now and looks to see ravens flying, she slices at one that Dorarose causes to almost crash, she keeps an eye on the mousemaid, "These ravens are deadly mouse, ya need to be carefull."

DoraRose is sadly ignored as she screams for people to do something about the fires as they are busy aiming sling stones and arrows at them too. The kiln is a roaring inferno and thankfully the yard is seperated from the rest of the abbey buildings. Someone up on the wall screams as a raven swoops down and in the confusion pulls him over the back of the wall and into the forest. The distraction as others leap to try and stop the raven draws some of the archers away but someone sees and shouts another warning into the chaos... Coming in high, outside of sling-shot range is another set of ravens.. these ones carrying three ropes tied around a barrel and they look to be heading for the orchard this time.... Still currently outside the walls but if they don't get shot down before they are over-head.... the abbey is in real danger.

DoraRose has seen this latest batch of ravens, and she mutters something under her breath and bolts to the orchards, stone in sling whirling above her head as she keeps an eye on the ravens.

Safana shakes her head, she slices at one raven that swoops a little to close.

Brick had snuck back to the abbey from his squadron of shrews during the night and he had only had about an hour long argument with the guard before he was let into the abbey after convincing the guard that he was indeed from the GUOSIM . The little shrew had been spending a lazy day around the kitchen, snitching what food he could and avoiding the cooks ladle. As the noise starts outside Brick pokes his head around the door post of the kitchen and watches wide eyed as the battle ensues outside.

Several guards are up on the wall behind the orchard firing arrows one after another at the incoming ravens... they are swooping in low... and then an arrow hits! The raven tumbles and the remaining two jerk down low.... they are still coming for the abbey wall though, their dangerous cargo can be seen to be alight and hissing as they fly in. Several other ravens dive down... a very large one wearing iron attachments on its claws flare down toward Dora's back as she runs for the orchard, the mouse maid is in perfect position to get a sling stone off at one of the remaining cargo carrying Ravens but the one swooping in from behind is outide her field of vision, Safana however is in a pretty good place to reach out and defend the mouse. Near the abbey building though Brick is witness to a raven landing on the path and stalking toward an injured guard who is limping toward the building slowly, clutching their side they pull their spear up, holding it unsteadily but in their current state they won't be much.

Safana quickly goes to make a slice at the raven just before it gets a chance to peck at the mousemiad, the raven is hurt badly and turns on the feline, Safana jumps back and slices at the bird again as it reaches out with its talons, one talon claws across her chest, and its shown she has chainmail on under her tunic, which seemed very smart of her , she kicks the raven and stabs down, the raven dies quickly from the last sword stab.

DoraRose lops off a stone at 1 of the ravens coming over the walltop and scores a hit, breaking the birds' breastbone. It caws painfully and flops, unable to fly anymore. The mousemaid sends another stone hurtling towards the remaining raven, then turns and stares grimly at the bird that was going to attack her. She nods to Safana and says, "Thanks," before turning back to the fray, stone in sling, aiming for some bird to thump.

Brick eyes get wider as he sees the raven stalking toward the guard. Thinking as fast as he can he dash's back into the kitchen and commandeers a large oven paddle. The paddle is so large he can barely lift it, but that does not stop him from dragging it behind him as he pulls it out of the kitchen that is now empty of any sane beast. He marches smart like toward the raven and the guard getting ready to *try* and swing it at the raven.

The raven caws and drops as Dora's sling stone hits it.... the remaining raven however drops and Dora's next stone misses, the barrel is over the wall but low enough that it doesn't explode on impact. It bounces and rolls up to rest against the base of a tree and the remaining Raven caws loudly and ducks behind it and its claws can be seen striking flint against the barrel, it is trying to set it off but Safana and Dora still have a chance if they act quickly. Brick meanwhile gets the raven by surprise, the paddle that swings around clocks it upside the head and with a CAW it crumples and the guard quickly moves past the shrew to stab it with his spear. Just as he is turning back he gasps and the mouse shoves the shrew away from him. The pair fall apart as another raven slashes down into the space Brick was just standing in!

DoraRose growls low and dashes over to the barrel, putting her sling away and drawing her basterd sword. The blue cat's-eye crystal pommel-stone flashes in the light of the sun and the fires. The maiden's eyes start to turn a little pink, no, not from the smoke, from the Bloodwrath. As she gets closer, her pace picks up and a yell escapes her throught, "TUSCANI!"

Safana goes to quickly slice at the raven, the raven is injured and gets away from the barrel, which luckly doesnt go off. The raven caws loudly and takes its talons to the feline, she screams in pain and kicks at the raven and slcies her sword at it repeatedly.

Brick looks quite pleased with himself as the paddle hits home and he nods his thanks to the guards for finishing the bird off. He looks very surprised as the mouse guard shoves him out of the way, but soon sees the reason for the action and is going to do more than nod to the guard this time. He heaves the paddle again; keeping it aimed at the ravens head.

THWOCK! Goes the paddle cracking the raven upside the head and the guard lunges with his spear and stabs the bird though it caws and gets back into the air and flies for it! Safana's blow with the sword does indeed drive the Raven back from the barrel but then its beak rips into her arm, tearing through her clothing and flesh quite nastily and then Dora is upon it and the bird goes down easily under her impassioned attack. The barrel is thankfully no longer lit and in the sky over head the ravens are starting to retreat but another one of those THOMPF noises echoes from the other side of the abbey as another Barrel appears to have gotten through but at least the orchard is safe!

DoraRose is breathing shakily, her eyes still pink from the Bloodwrath. She looks around, sword at the ready, waiting for some stupid bird to show it's fat head so she can whup it.

Safana holds her arm as blood pours down it, one last raven tries to dive at her and she side steps, she slices at the bird as its talons go down her back, she spins around and stabs the raven in its throat,it twiches one and twice and then is dead as Safana drops to her knees and lets go of her sword, her arm bleeding badly and her back now has a couple bad talon marks along her shoulder blade area.

Brick laughs victoriously as he hits the raven. It has been quite a few seasons since he has fought and he is feeling revived. He walks over to the guard and offers a paw with a wide grin "Thanks mate. I would be a dead beast if it weren't for you. I think we work quite well as a team!"

The guard smiles and takes the shrews paw, slowly standing back up and smiling, "I'd have been dead without you too friend..." The birds are in full retreat, the orchard is saved but the Kitchen yard is aflame and word soon reaches the two in the infirmary as a couple of guards race over to help them. The Garden of the Late rose is also on fire! Guards and members of the order are appearing to start to put out the fires now the attack is over but the Kitchen Yard has been reduced to ashes and cinders.. the buildings are completly lost.

DoraRose sheaths her sword and goes to help Safana when the smell of burning roses enters her nose. She stares in horror at the flames, the orders some guards nearby, "Take the cat to the infirmary!" She then dashes off in a headlong run to the Garden of the Late Rose, desperate to help put the fire out.

Brick grins and shrugs modestly and says to the guard "It was nothing." He glances toword the way of the rose garden and frowns "I suppose we should go help with that. You up to it?"

Dust's reaction is a bit late...anyways, the Novice sprints into the area, disheveled and panicked, habit askew and eyes wild. Skidding to a halt in the Kitchen Yard, he pants, "What-What happened? What's going on? I was studying in the Library, then I heard screaming..."

Safana has blood running down her arm and left and right shoulder blade, in fact she loses coniousness and passes out

The guards help Safana, a brother with a basket full of healing supplies hurrying to her side to help stem her bleeding before they move her. Dust is stopped before he reaches the Yard, it is in flames, all the out buildings are burning. The kiln roof collapses in a mighty spray of sparks and the Brothers and Sisters of the order are not trying to fight those fire just making sure they do not spread. "Ravens dropped burning barrles that exploded on the buildings... we fought them off but..." Dora interupts as she races past and the Brother blinks, "Not the garden, come Dust quickly!" He lifts his habit and starts running. The guard who helped Brick fight shakes his head, "You go, I got to get this wound seen to, go try and save the garden of the late rose."

DoraRose has vanished into the garden, smoke billowing out above her head as she tries to fight the fire with a wet burlap sack she snitched from a Brother of the Order. She is lost to sight.

Brick nods at the guard "Good idea" He than turns and starts to run to the garden, nothing in his paws to put the fire out with so it might be a bad idea.

Dust is still a bit blown away by the rapidity of events. Glancing around, he finds a habit somebeast left lying around and runs to the pond. He returns seconds later with a dripping wet habit in his paws, and sprints to the garden.

The Garden of the Late Rose...

The Garden is aflame! One whole wall seems to be fire and it is spreading to the other flower beds, being carried along the trellis that usually in happier times helps the roses to climb up the side of the outer wall. Dora is fighting a bit of a losing battle at first but then the others start to arrive. Brothers and Sisters passing buckets back and forth to throw on the flames before they spread to the other flower beds and beasts with wet sacks and habits to beat at the flames as the smoke boils up.

DoraRose is trying to save the Late Rose itself. Tears of sorrow (and irritation from the smoke) begin to pour from her eyes as she begins to cough. But she is not giving up!

Brick comes running into the garden and suddenly relizes his lack of water. He curses to himself and quickly leaves to grab somthing helpful.

A couple guards come in after taking the very injured Safana to the infirm after they got her bleeding under control.

"Here..." The Bellringer runs to DR's side. Dust does his best, beating with the wet habit at the flames around the Late Rose, but it seems to be a losing battle for him.

A sister hands Brick a bucket of water "Go douse that bush, stop it spreading," she points at a bush that is starting to burn... With Dust at her side Dora-Rose is starting to make headway, the trellis is collapsing, pulling away from the wall and a line of rose bushes has been engulfed in flame but they are containing the fire, beating it back and quenching it slowly as the smoke billows up around them all!

Brick nods his thanks to the sister than runs over to the bush. He pours the whole bucket at once than runs back to the pond to fill it up again. He is not the best fire killer by a long shot, but he will do his best.

There is now alot of brothers, novices, sisters of the abbey, useing buckets of water to get the fire out faster, some even use dirt along the path so the fire doesnt reach the garden

Dust tries his best, he really does. He fights fire like it's a tangible foebeast, growling and muttering oaths against the very idea of flame.

DoraRose beats at the rose with her wet sack, coughing more and more frequently. "Please...don't burn..let there be rain..." she murmers, then coughs again.

Working together, throwing buckets of water down, tossing dirt onto the flames and beating at it with sacks and habits the Abbey beasts are crushing the flames driving it back slowly but surely. Dora's prayers for rain go unanswered and beyond the Garden Dust is able to see a group of guards race past to take up station near the East Wall Gate and carefully open it, weapons at the ready. The fire though is nearly under control, just a few stubborn patches are still burning. The entire north wall trellis of the garden is a ruin, the roses are gone along that wall but the curling blooms along the other walls are safe... working together. Acting as a team the Abbey beasts have brought this fire under control, only those few, stubborn patches remaining.

Dust glances to the east as he fights the fire. "What's up?" he says to nobeast in particular as he sees the events at the wall.

DoraRose is coughing about once every other second. Now that the rose is saved, she collapses, coughing like a stinking champion...which is not good.

On of the abbey healers happens to come out looking to update on the feline, she frowns and rushes over to Dorarose to tend to the coughing mousemaid, she moves her slightly away and digs in her pack for an herb to help with breathing problems and crushes it in her paws and holds some up for Dorarose to breath in, and some for her to try and chew on, both would help.

Brick is back and this time with two buckets of water. He leaps over to the bush and flings the water on than runs back out for more water.

Miremel looks around. "How did this happen?" Her gaze is curious but cautious, as she is uncertain of the mood.

Chud runs in a few steps behind his sister. "Wot...th'...bloody...?" The young otter trails off.

The fire is out, Brick's two bucket of thrown water dousing the last flickering, resistant flame. The garden is silent for a moment and then Chud and Miremel arrive to see the carnage. One of the sister's turns to them and shakes their head, "The Ravens.... dumped flaming barrels out of the sky. This is... all we saved..." About a quarter of the Garden is ruined and the two otters would be able to see smoke drifting from the south side of the abbey. "The Forge and Kiln and workshops over by the Kichen Yard are all gone... but... at least we saved the garden." she looks as the healers continue to help Dora-Rose recover from the smoke and start to move her out of the garden. "The Late rose will continue to bloom..."

The herbs have helped DoraRose, but she is still coughing as she is led out of the garden. She looks about ready to faint.

The healer frowns, "Here try this" A mix of herbs is made and offered to further help Dorarose, she glances at the others, "Where is Flicktail or the abbot, the one feline is very very bad off, she is in a deep faint "

Brick drops his buckets and looks joyfully at the bush, happy he got the fire out. He wipes a paw across his face, leaveing a trail of dirt and he turns and gets ready to sneek back to the kitchen.

Chud wipes sweat from his brow. Although he didn't fight any fires, he /was/ sweating, from his virtual run to the Abbey and stress. "Wot 'appened?"

DoraRose coughs again, and tries to speak, but can't. Her throught is to messed up from the smoke.

The healer sighs and still tries to help Dorarose.

Shandar comes running around the corner, almost trips on her skirt, and rights herself just before she face-plants. "I wasn't allowed to come out, but I saw somethin' was wrong, and so I.." She pants, and her voice fades away as she recognizes DoraRose. "Are you ok?" She goes over, avoiding bits of still-hot scorched earth, yet still managing to burn her paws a bit. She pats the back of the older mouse.

Brick grins gleefully as he remebers that the kitchens are empty of any beast. Free pickings! He starts to walk away from the garden, thinking of all the pie he could 'barrow'.

Chud sighs and heads off, searching for something...Probably his sister.

DoraRose really truly does faint, and is lugged off to the infermary to be treated.

The Abbey infirm...

Zarok watches out the window, his head propped on clawed paws, despair and gloom in his dark, lidless eyes. For once, an Infirmary Keeper accosted him before he could head out to help his friends, and his tail lashes in dismay.

Safana is in the infirm being worked on, but the ravens did hurt her fairly bad, her right arm torn badly from the shoulder to elbow, he shoulder blades were also cut into badly, she has lost alot of blood and lays here near death. Her breathing is not very good at all and her pulse is very low.

Zarok already saw the cat's entrance, and he watched, until he finally looked away, somewhat sickened. Now he covers his eyes with one paw.

The scene reminds Shandar of the death of her parents. Her eyes widen, and she fights the urge to run and find Wildefray, until she reminds herself that Wildefray is no longer around. She goes over to the bed, dodging infirmary workers, and takes the paw of the unconsious cat.

A commotion is heard outside the door, and DoraRose is brought in on a stretcher, unconcious and blackened with soot. The healers lay her on a bed and start attending her and listing off what's wrong: smoke inhalation, minor burns and scratches, and stress, probably from going into the Bloodwrath.

Zarok lets out an involuntary, bestial screech, and hurls himself at, but thankfully, not on to, the strecher, wailing.

Safana moves slightly as a healer sighs, "I do hope she lives, we had another die, he was protecting a dibbun who was attcked by the ravens, the dibbun is over there" She points to a volemaid dibbun,.."Her rescuer was very brave."

Zarok jibbers madly. "What happen, what happen, what HAPPEN?"

Shandar knows nothing of healing, but she is determined that DoraRose shall /not/ die, if only for the sanity of the dibbun monitor lizard. She grabs a bowl of water, a cloth, and a band of gauze. Focused on her task, she sets about cleaning and wrapping the minor injuries to DoraRose. As she passes Zarok, she pats his head and whispers. "She'll be ok." Sounding more confident than she felt. She thinks that this is not the best time to try out any new healing knowledge.

The healer looks at Zarok, "Some raverns came like couple days ago,...a dibbun was at the gates, the vole I mentioned and novice Pike saw the dibbun and went to get them inside when the ravens attcked, Pike was knocked out of his wheelchair but he still shielded the dibbuns, the guard killed most of them and the rest flew off,..the dibbun is recovering but saddly....saddly Novice Pike died before we could get him inside"

DoraRose stirs slightly as Zarok screams. The healers let him through, knowing he will not hinder them (on purpose). An older mouse watches Shandar, pleased that somebeast is trying to help.

Zarok's tongue flickers through the air as he hisses, "No..." He tries to clamber up onto the stretcher.

One of the healers gently lifts Zarok off the stretcher and sets him gently on the floor. DoraRose coughs violently as another healer forces a tiny bit of water in her mouth. Other than that and her breathing, she almost seems dead.

Zarok sniffs the air, tasting the scent of Dora's condition, and his eyes cloud in sorrow. "She...not...gonna...diez, right?" he whispers.

Safana moves slightly, the healer frowns looking between the mouse and the cat, the cat is not in very good shape and slowly gets worse rather than better, seems the raven that slamed in her back did more than just get her shoulder blades prehaps.

DoraRose stirs again at the sound of Zarok's voice. The healer turns to the dibbun. "No, I don't think so. Keep talking. It seems to be helping. Talk about anything, anything at all."

"Urm...okiez." Zarok scratches his head, then begins babbling. "You like fishiezz, Dorrozzze, I like fishiezz, I talk to them an' then eat 'em, they really nice about it they don't get upset when I swaller 'em, 'r anyfin', pleez no die, I got no family now, ol' Tribe real bad, wan' /you/ t'be my family, pleazze, could call you Auntie Dorrozze an' zzztuff, an'..." he babbles on and on and on, getting more and more desperate

The healer walks away from the feline, "Any names to mention to her, someone she is close to or that she knows well?"

Shandar has bandaged most of the minor burns and scrapes DoraRose acquired, using up most of her roll of bandages in the process. She stands back, nods, satisfied with her improvised handiwork. Not wanting to try and fail at cleaning the bigger hurts, and hurting the warriormouse, Shandar turns to Safana, but realizes that she can do nothing for the cat without more practice. Instead, she just sits on the edge of her bed and holds her paw again. "DoraRose, think of Leon. You can't die now. Think of Leon and Zarok."

DoraRose gives a small smile at Zarok's idea of Auntie, then gasps, "/Leon..../" she stirs, and begins to mumble, "Leon...Zarok....Lily...Rose...LateRose....Lil...Leon....Zar..." she almost seems to be dreaming, but how can that be possible?

Safana slips into one of those very deep faints now, the healer frowns and looks back to Dorarose seeing how she can help.

Zarok clasps DoraRose's paw in both of his scaley, veiny appendages. "You okies?"

Shandar is worried by Safana's faint, thinking that she may not wake up, but Shandar knows that there is still nothing she can do. "That's right, DoraRose, think of them all. They need you." She tries not to think of her own family, or Wildefray. "You can't die now." She whispers, and blinks hard.

DoraRose goes on mumbling like this for a while, then squeezes Zarok's paw as her blue eyes open. She tries to say something, but ends up coughing instead.

A healer gets her some water.

"You wakey now?" Zarok asks hopefully.

Shandar hops down from Safana's bed and crosses to DoraRose. She takes the water from the healer and brings it to DoraRose's mouth, letting her drink it slowly. "Are you ok now?" She holds the bowl with one paw, and uses the other to hold the paw Zarok isn't holding.

The majority of the healers leave now that DoraRose is awake. The warriormouse slowly drinks the water, then leans back and smiles, looking very tired. "I...I think so..." she mananges to whisper.

"That good," Zarok whispers. "I wazz /worried./" The monitor from the South scrambles up onto the cot and lays down on the mousemaids footpaws, curls up into a scaley little bundle, and soon is fast asleep, making small 'snerk' noises when he inhales.

"Do you need anything else?" Shandar asks softly, placing the water dish on a table near DoraRose's head.

DoraRose smiles and squeezes Shandars' paw. "Ye...no, I don't think so. Thank you, love."

Shandar smiles back sadly and sits next to the stretcher. "Just say if you do." She looks at the floor stones for a moment. "Whose Lily?"

DoraRose freezes, and anger, sorrow, and a deep, deep pain appear on her face. "Where...where did you hear that?"

Lorimis walks inro the infirm to check on beasts in the infirm and notices Dorarose and walks over, "Dorarose?"

Shandar looks at DoraRose oddly. "You..you called her name out when I mentioned Leon. You also talked about Laterose and Zarok."

DoraRose closes her eyes, and 3 tears leak out of them. "She...she was my sister..." she covers her face with a soot-covered paw.

Lorimis goes over to take a cloth to Dora's face, to help clean it and wipe away tears, he also helps clean paws.

Shandar desperately tries not to cry. "I'm..I'm sorry. I understand. I won't talk anymore about it unless you want to tell me something." She feels as if her words are an echo of something that was said to her when she was younger. Shandar smiles shyly at the Abbot and squeezes DoraRose's paw gently, directing her gaze back at the floor.

DoraRose nods, not trusting herself to talk. She lets the Abbot clean her up as a tear falls down her cheek.

Lorimis pats her clean paw "Things will be alright Dorarose" A guard updates him on what happen and he nods, "More raven attacks, was anyone...killed in this one?"

Shandar doesn't move, just sits still and tries to think of things that won't make her cry. She wants to be strong, but doesn't quite know where to get her strength. The mousemaid watches Lorimis clean up DoraRose. She looks up when the guard speaks, but doesn't say anything, just bites her lip.

DoraRose lets go of Shandars' paw and gently strokes her head. She just sits and listens to the other adults talk, eyes half closed.

Lorimis listens and nods as a guards death is mnetioned and how Safana is in a deep faint, he nods, "The ravens killed a novice couple days ago, was about to make him a brother, think I may go ahead and do that."

Shandar lets her paw drop limply at her side, but after a moment, she reaches up and paws at the wrappings around her neck. She doesn't care to have them changed, but she finds them irritating. Her curiosity is aroused when Lorimis speaks. "But if Pike is dead....how can he be a brother now?" She sniffs, remembering playing in the boat that he made, but she doesn't dwell to long on that thought because it involes Wildefray.

Lorimis says, "A way to honor him."

Scioto walks in, he makes sure Ragg is close to him as he glances around, "What has..happened?"

Ragg follows close behind the cat. He looks a bit uneasy and as he enters he seems to sink into his seer's cloak.

DoraRose glances at Scioto, tries to say something, coughs, then tries again. "S..Stormfeathers...birds attacked us...se...set fire to th...the grounds../*coughcough*/...killed a..a guard, cat might die..." she points to Safana's limp form. "Almost...lost the...the LateRose garden...." she tries to say more but is cut off by a fit of coughing.

Shandar is instantly wary when she sees the weasel, and she tenses. She has gotten used to cats in the abbey, so Scioto doesn't bother her as much. When she was traveling to Redwall, she had been forwarned about vermin, and weasels were on the dangerous list. But this weasel seemes just as nervous as herself, so he doesn't seem to pose much of a threat. She jumps to get the water when DoraRose starts coughing again.

Scioto follows the point and gasps in shock and quickly goes over to Safana, "Sa...sister?" A single tear goes down his face, "No..not her...tooo."

Ragg looks around and has no idea how to react to Scioto or the dibbun. He just drifts over to a corner and stands there, looking nervous.

Shandar puts the water back when DoraRose doesn't take it. She hugs the warrior mouse gently, watches Ragg carefully as she passes him, and waves to the room in general before making her way outside.

DoraRose smiles at the hug and gives a weak wave. She coughs some more, then turns a weary gaze to Ragg. "Good...good evening." she coughs some more and a healer gives her some water, then leaves to make her rounds.

Ragg nods to the dibbun mouse as she leaves, not really sure what else to do. He looks over at DoraRose as she speaks and offers a small smile that does not quite reach his eyes "Hello."

DoraRose looks at his cloak and manages to whisper, "That cloak..it looks familiar..."

Ragg looks down at his cloak, managing a real grin "This old thing? I got it from a friend of mine. You like it?"

DoraRose nods, then coughs, and 1 of the healers turns to glare at Ragg, saying, "If you're going to insist on making her talk, then at least help her drink her water."

Ragg looks suprised by the healer than quickly nods "Right. Sorry." He walks over to DoraRose and picks up the cup of water. He puts the rim of the cup up to DoraRose's mouth.

DoraRose drinks some of the water, then smiles. "Thank you." she then falls asleep.
