"EMYUIL! Why did you tell her??"

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

RW Abbey: Open Ground

The Open Ground is a place for feasts, good times and just general social meetings. The wide-open space allows a large group of beasts to gather upon the plush grass and chat. But it also allows access to many places of the abbey, towards the walls of the abbey is the Bell Tower. Notable abbey defenders graves alongside the plot of land the massive structure takes up. A staircase shrouded by a case of stone allows one to make their way to the busy infirmary. The large brass lined doors to the lower dormitory are also evident from this position.

[It's late summer/very early autumn. Happy Harvest Time! :D]

Greased Pole

Emyuil the mouse. DoraRose the mouse.

Emyuil has been in a bit of a funk ever since he scared off his niece. He prowls around the grounds now, simultaneously annoyed at himself and the rest of the world for putting him in such a position.

He's not the only one. On her way to the belltower, Dora spots her brother and decides to talk to him. She storms over to him and goes to grab his shoulders and make him look her in the eye. "EMYUIL! Why did you tell her?? Lily's been impossible to reason with! I think she's hiding in the belltower, and I'm afraid she's gonna hurt herself!!" She is torn between begging him to help her talk some sense into the Bellringer-in-training, and beating the living daylights out of him.

Emyuil jerks back in surprise. "I told her, but I was trying to also tell her that I was going to be training her. Good news and bad, you know? I don't know what I was supposed to do. I can help get her if you like," he adds.

DoraRose sighs and, after releasing him, ruffles her own ears in agitation. "I....you....*sigh* You should've let me tell her. She would've come to you and brought the subject up herself." She rubs her forehead, feeling the beginnings of a headache coming on.

Emyuil nods. "Sorry, sorry. Should we go talk to her then?" A hint of remorse is in his face. "I wasn't thinking, I guess. I thought she'd be happy to be trained."

DoraRose rubs her face with both paws. "I am training her already in the Warrior's Code of Honour. She would love to be trained by you. It's just......I hadn't told her yet that we'd be leaving for a while." She goes to give him a hug. "It's okay.....it's a learning process. You'll get it eventually. I'm not sure talking to her would be good right now. Give her a week or so."

Emyuil nods, accepting the hug and returning it gently. "It's fine. I'll give her her space then. Want me to wait here?"

DoraRose sighs, needing a hug as much as she thinks he needed one. "I......no. She can hide in there for a while longer." She goes to rest her head on his shoulder. "And we're leaving the day after the Autumn Feast, which is weeks away. Just so y'know."

Emyuil lets his sister lean her head there. "Oh. I must've misheard you before..." He pinches the bridge of his snout, sighing. "Are you okay?"

DoraRose closes her eyes and shakes her head. "No. My day is...going basically terribly. This......ngh, just today is....not the best." What with Zinnia and LilyMoore and everything else, this day went down the drain fast for the Warriormouse.

"Anything I can do to help?" Emyuil asks, surprisingly helpful. "I could make you some tea or something." He shrugs.

DoraRose smiles and goes to give him a tighter hug. "You're so amazing. I'm glad that your my brother...even though I want to hurt you sometimes. You're still a good brother."

Emyuil blushes deeply and lowers his gaze. "You're crushing my ribs," he mumbles. "I'm glad you're my sister, too," he says more clearly. "I honestly don't know where I'd be without you," he says sincerely.

"Sorry." Rose releases her grip and steps back, going to rest her paws on his shoulders. "Neither do I, but we're here now. And I wouldn't go back and change our choices for anything. You're my brother, and we're together, as a family, in one of the most legendary places in the whole entire world. I wouldn't trade it for anything."

Emyuil nods. "Aye. Same here. The past is the past, the future is unknown. All that matters is where we are. Love you, 'rose," he says quietly.

DoraRose goes to wrap him in a hug again. "I love you, too, Emmy. Aye, today is a gift. That's why it's called the Present."

Emyuil accepts the hug, huddling against his sister like when he was a young lad. He chuckles a little at her joke and merely closes his eyes, content to be with her.

DoraRose goes to give him a quick squeeze, then says, "Hey, y'know what? Let's go ahead and both go get Lily. I may need help convincing her to get down off of the beam that supports the bells." If he allows it, she will lead him off to the belltower, where they have to tackle the Herculean task of getting LilyMoore down.

Emyuil nods. "On it." He heads off after his sister, his jaw set and his eyes looking determined.
