RW Abbey: Open Ground

The Open Ground is a place for feasts, good times and just general social meetings. The wide-open space allows a large group of beasts to gather upon the plush grass and chat. But it also allows access to many places of the abbey, towards the walls of the abbey is the Bell Tower. Notable abbey defenders graves alongside the plot of land the massive structure takes up. A staircase shrouded by a case of stone allows one to make their way to the busy infirmary. The large brass lined doors to the lower dormitory are also evident from this position.

Spring brings soggy grass -- though green, now -- in this open ground. The ground is saturated with melting snows and spring rains, causing muddy spots to dot the field here and there. Green growth is sprouting up everywhere, taking over the tiny bits of snow that can still be spotted hither and yon in secluded areas of the open ground. All and all a cheery scene, with the new growth and such -- but hazardous for the unwary.

Flicktail arrives with Benick and Luna, Luna has pretty apron on, and has her little shovel and watering can, and a big hat, and “Hullo Papa Oz!" she says sweetly.

Oz smiles as he looks over at Benick and Luna, "Well Hello Luna..Benick, how are you two doing?"

Benick smiles, he as a bigger shovel "We make stuff GROW”

Oz says, "Yes we will plant some flower bulbs and they will grow into flowers, and we will be cleaning out the garden areas and readying them for planting season in couple weeks, maybe 3 weeks"

Benick looks up, "gardening is hard work....we gets lots ta eat" He giggles, and Luna smiles and looks at the bulbs.

Luna is standing in a pretty Pink Apron with a flower on it, she has a straw hat and a small shovel and water canteen, while Benick has a larger shovel.

Benick smiles "BITTEK Knight Fourstone the strong!”

Oz chuckles, "Well need to see if some of the older beasts are coming too, help more the larger rocks, you can help with smaller rocks and sticks" He says as he moves a large rock aside.

Zarok toddles out to where the other beasts are gathered, looking around. "Sss..."

Oz gets out the flower bulbs and sits them in a safe place, "First we clear an area for these flowers, dig a little hold, place bulb in the hole and cover it back up and water it some"

Benick moves over to Zarok "Another Bikkit Knight, you..Zarok the smooth?"

Luna smiles as she moves over to Papa Oz helping him with the bulbs.

Zarok grins, his black flicking all around "Yezzz...you a bikket knight too?"

Fourstone starts to set rocks aside and moving the littlest pebbles.

Oz smiles, some novice arrive to help move some large sticks and use some tools to ready the soil for planting later on in couple weeks, Oz uses his garden tools as well to roll back and forth on the soil, digging it up and mixing it to make sure its soft for later on, he keeps the area for the dibbuns flowers cleared and the area is set apart from the rest of the garden with some nice colored stones around the future flower bed.

Benick Smiles "Luna is my Sisser! I am Bikket knight I am..Benick th.......Benick th..." ,he stops no one has named him.

Luna kneels down and starts trying to dig a hole with her little shovel.

Fourstone looks up at Benick, "Arnt you Benick the wild?"

Benick brightens ,"is that good fer me?", He looks at Papa Oz "Dig here Papa?" He puts his shovel down to the ground.

Oz watches the dibbuns dig holes and lets them pick a flower bulb if they want but also makes sure they are careful as they plant them.," We will soon have nice flowers"

Zarok pauses, thinking, tapping the tip of his club tail on the ground a few times..."sss...You could..sssss...be...Benick the Firetail...sss" , Then he remembers something, and walks over to Oz, holding something in his claws.

Oz looks at Zarok ,"Hello, Zarok was it?...what do you have?"

Benick nods "I like that name too!"

Flicktail has brought small shovels for Fourstone and Zarok.

Luna looks up, "Papa how deep? like this?”, she has mud all over her face already.

Zarok opens his clawed paws delicately, revealing a yellow speck. "Sss a zeed....very zzzpecial zeed..."

Oz smiles, he shows Luna how deep, "About this deep, hee hee looks like bath time after wards today"

Fourstone grunts as the small shovel he got from Flicktail hits something, " I hit something"

Flicktail looks at Zarok, "what kind of seed is that Zarok?" He cocks his head.

Benick goes over to look at Fourstone, "maybe you hit a fourstone?”

Fourstone brushes the thing with his paw then says excitedly, "it a box!"

Zarok looks at the yellow speck in his paws, then grins. "sss..It a bikket seed!"

Zarok holds onto the seed, then goes over to check out what Fourstone found,.."Sss whatzz in it?"

Oz chuckles, "Not sure biscuits grow here, but things to make them do or will soon"

Flicktail says, "I never heard of a Bikket seed, we will see if it grows. Did you find Cluny's treasure? Fourstone?"

Luna is busy digging holes  she gently puts a bulb in each home she digs.

Fourstone nod, "I think it Cluny treasure"

Zarok moves near Luna, and carefully digs a hole for his 'bikket seed' with his powerful claws. "sss gonna grow into a Bikket tree!" He places the 'seed' in the hole, then walks over to Fourstone. "Letzzz see what in it!"

Oz watches the dibbuns as he plants a bulb as well, but mainly he is letting the dibbuns plant the flower bulbs and he and some novices are clearing the fields of old rocks, sticks and toiling the soil for spring planting.

Fourstone tugs the box out and tires to open it, "it locked, or something"

Luna gives Zarok a muddy kiss on the cheek, "Papa Oz! we planted a Bikket tree!"

Flicktail asks, "Can you get it open Fourstone?"

Benick moves over looking at the box

Zarok grins, his tail thumping happily.

Zarok moves over to fourstone. "Zarok can openzz it, lockzzz or no lockzzzz..." He extends his long, sharp, black claws.

Flicktail Wants to see what is in it

Zarok looks over at the box. "Let Zarok zee. I canz get it open!”

Oz is curious of the box, he looks at Flicktail to see if he knows anything about it.

Fourstone grins, "I knew it be Cluny treasure! "

Flicktail shrugs to Oz and knows nothing of the box

Benick smiles, "Let Zarok the smooth..he kin does it!"

Luna moves over to peek and look, "Is there a necklace?”

Zarok takes the box, and licks one of his claws with his long tongue. He delicately inserts said claw into the box's lock, and begins jiggling it around. "Sss norra strong lockzzz...old...eazy fer Zarok the Smooth to open..." He grins. "Almozt..sss...there..."

Oz watches the small box be open as he helps a couple other dibbuns plant a flower bulb and water them.

Flicktail exclaims, "Zarok you’re a very handy beast to have around" Benick smiles "you DOZE it! Bikket Knights!!!"

• Click* The box suddenly swings open, with Zarok's claw still in the lock. He looks embarrassed. "Hzzz...ss...Um...how doez Zarok the Zzzmooth get claw out?" He struggles, then finally his claw is free. He hears Benick and Flicktail, and smiles. "Thankzz! Bikket Knights foreverz!"

Fourstone smiles the box is filled with gold and a few old parchments.

Luna tugs at Papa Oz’s leg "Luna can't see..up..up....”

Oz smiles and gently lifts Luna up so she can see, he looks at the chest, "We should put that somewhere safe Flicktail, maybe like Benar know when he returns from his trip"

Zarok looks at the coins. "Bikket trezurez!" He picks up the parchment, then shakes his scaly head. "sss Zarok can't readzz thiz."

Flicktail says, "Oz you read's better en me"

Zarok toddles over and hands the parchment to Oz. "Herez you gozz...."

Oz looks at the scroll curious as to what it says, some might be faded as if it really was that old, well some be faded by now.

Zarok looks back to the gold. "Izzz liddle metal bikkets!"

Oz hmmms, "lot of it faded, may not be from Cluny though, may be from someone else perhaps, hmmms...and no it’s not gold biscuits"

Zarok looks dismayed. "But...but if it lookzzz like bikkets, doesn't that make it a bikket?" "Bezidez, izn't it bikket trezure?"

Luna tries to see the paper, putting her muddy paws on the back of Oz’s neck Benick's stands on his tippy footpaws, "what's it say papa?"

Fourstone gives a little cry of delight, he had been looking thru the treasure "I found bracelet"

Zarok looks at the bracelet. "Sss a Bikklet!"

Luna blinks "K..Kin I have one? I don't have no bracelet”

Fourstone looks shy, "it yours" , He hands it to Luna

Oz looks at the "treasure" .."We still need to place it somewhere safe, we can put it to good use maybe, may be some other items we can put in storage or place somewhere, a history item maybe."

Flicktail asks, "Now wait a Min Oz, the Dibbuns found it, should they not have a say?"

Oz looks to Flicktail and the box, some bracelets and coins, not like tons but a good pile of them, and the paper.

Benick looks up to Father Oz "We can't have it Papa? none of it?'

Fourstone looks at Oz. "Benick right. we get none of it?"

Oz blinks ," Well I didn’t say that...yet, what would you do with it?" A novice looks at the paper as they try to make it out and shake some sort off it.

Zarok claps his hands. "Put it in secret Bikket Knight hiding place!"

Flicktail says, "Well I think each dibbun should have a coin...and well Don't knights help the poor? I think Father Abbot would be very pleased if the Bikket knights offered it to him to help beasts"

Fourstone grins at Zaroks idea "ya we put it in secret hidden place"

Zarok grins at what Flicktail says, too. "We doez both!!!! We keepzzz a coin each and givezzz rezt to abbot to help beazztzz"

Benick nods "Kin My sisser have the Bra-lett? I wanna make Father Benar happys”

Oz smiles at the plan, "The dibbuns could present it to Benar, when he returns, and one coin each should be fine"

Benick says "we each gets a coin for the secret pace"

Zarok smiles. "Bikket twezure..ssss...yay!"

Luna says "Maybe it's a flower tree"

Benick takes his small shovel and Digs holes, and puts in seeds, Luna follows with her watering can.  Benick pats his head "garden hard work..." he doesn’t mention he's only worked about 10 seconds "We get some cold ta drink papa?”

Oz smiles, he sends a novice off to get some cherry cordial and fresh honey scones for them.

Luna is making mud pies.

Fourstone follows Luna example.

Flicktail smiles to Oz "You think their learning about planting?”

Benick brings Oz a worm "Papa Oz LOOK!”

Oz nods ,"I think they are yes"

Fourstone licks the mud thinking it might taste good with garlic.

Benick brings the worm over to Fourstone, "dare ya ta eat a worm....”

Fourstone blanches, "will you eat worm if I eat worm?"

Benick cuts the worm in half and offers half to Fourstone

Oz frowns "No worm eating..." he thinks fast "You’re having something much better than that soon, some pie and warm milk "

Benick frowns "awwww..but Papa oz...."

Fourstone tries not to think about what he is doing and is about to pop the worm into his mouth when he hears papa Oz say no "but what if it taste nice with garlic?"

Oz sighs and takes the worm away. “Besides the worms are needed, they help the plants grow" He places the worms back on the ground and they hide quickly.

Fourstone sighs "we never eat anything new" he bites into a clove of garlic

Benick looks up, "pies?"

Luna looks up and holds up a muddy pie "I makes pies”

Oz says, "well worms are for the sparrows and other birds, and you can try a new food, perhaps some snap peas or a new pie, one with cherry and walnuts"

Fourstone is about to eat some dirt WITH his garlic but then he hears the word pie "I have pie?"

Oz nods, "We can all have pie, but do wash paws and faces first"

Fourstone frowns, "I no like water"

Oz answers, "water is good"

Benick frowns, "why not FOurstone, the Strong, I likes baff....it's fun”

Fourstone grins, "I guess bath fun. I think I manage to wash paws"

Oz says, "we should have a good small flower garden soon and soon other things will be planted"

Luna sits, "Papa..I'm hungry and thirsty”

Oz says with a smile, "Let’s go inside then eat pie and drink juice"

Fourstone jumps up and down "juice! pie! juice!"

Flicktail Chuckles "have to clean up first, if Father Benar were to see this lot in the great hall, he might not be a Peaceful beast any more"

Fourstone dashes over to the pound and is so enthusiastic on washing his paws he almost falls in.

Flicktail says, "Alright very beast inside"
