Zork’s Dream from Martin The Warrior

Zork wakes up or seems to wake up as he gets a good look around and frowns, “Where am I?” He asks as he sits up and stands looking at a hillside with a large rose garden and frowns even more, “Ohh seasons I’m dead aren’t I?”

A voice beside him speaks, “No Zork you are not dead, your life hangs by a simple thread right now but the healers are doing their best to keep you alive, the otter Lee rushes back to your side with herbs Master Healer Brother Leon has given him to help you.” The owner of the voice waits.

Zork turns around and gasps, he has seen the mouse on the large Tapestry on the wall, “M..M….Martin?!”

Martin nods, “You will be in your deep faint a few more days before you awaken, your recovery will take over half a season, and then you will not be fully yourself again?”

Zork blinks “Not fully meself, wots that mean?”

Martin walks him to a stream motioning him to look.

Zork shrugs and looks jumping back a little, then slowly looking again, his reflection shows him in brown robes, but he is clearly still wearing what he had on before that fight with Zarola, he looks at Martin confused.

Martin speaks “Gone are your warrior days, beginning will be a new path in life you are to travel..friends will help you.”

Zork speaks “Bu..but..I can’t stop, being a warrior is me life!” He looks at the reflection as beside him, well in the reflection now is Benar, Leon, Zinnia, May, Lorimis …Zork slaps the water and frowns.

Martin rests a paw on his shoulder, “It is your path now Zork, you are to follow it and go down it now.”

Zork just sits there staring at the images, “But..wot if I don’t wanna.”

Martin frowns but seems willing to let the badger choose, the hill disappears and is replaced with gates, “ The abbey still needs you but if you feel the path is too hard…you may go inside.”

Zork turns and looks, standing he walks over, “The dark forest..” He steps away from the gates and shakes his head, “No..Ozzy needs me, me daughter Zinnia needs me..” He walks back over to Martin, “Lee would be upset if I went in thar…Benar, Lorimis, Leon..” He names many of his friends names..”Need me…”

Martin nods and they are back in the abbey, “Then rest and recover..Brother Zork.”

Zork looks around and smiles “The abbey…But how long will I..won’t they…the..”

Martin forces the badger to lie down, “Elder Benar and your Daughter Zinnia bring aid…now you need more sleep before you can awaken.

Zork is confused a mouse is forcing him down! He allows it, it’s like he has no choice anyways, he sees Benar and Zinnia, Anomen and Lacota and the 1000 hares with the badger Lord heading to the abbey, he lets his eyes close and he gets the rest he needs and will soon wake from his deep faint, and even then he will require a lot of rest and recovering time but he handle it and the future with the aid of his family and friends.
