Good Things Can Mean Mood Swings

Location: Redwall Abbey: Great Hall, RW: Infirmary

Characters Involved: Kolya, Starla, and a Spoofed Healer Mouse

After Having Returned from the home him and his future wife were aloud to use for a few days, Kolya was sitting in the great hall, smoking his pipe, quietly thinking to himself...he misses being in the order. He misses the habit, he misses the classes and most of all…he misses the chores, and the extra work. Really, that was his heaven.

Starla soon entered Great Hall herself but she didn't seem to be herself. She has been feeling quite nauseous in the mornings for the past couple weeks since the wedding and had been known to be a bit testy lately. She noticed her Husband sitting nearby and she walked up to him feeling her belly "Kol, does it look like I've put on some weight?" she asks glancing from her belly to him.

Kolya slowly looks up and smiles a bit. "Hey love" the stoat smiles before hming and looking at her. How does one answer that? "Um...Just...Just a little?" he says, trying not to be harsh or get himself kicked in the face.

Starla watches him closely judging his response by his eyes. When he answered her she glares briefly at him before she sighs "I thought so, But How? I hardly eat much and some times what i do eat makes me feel nauseous and i end up getting sick in a bowl." she said sadly sighing again as she glances back down to her belly. As she stood there some of the smoke from his pipe got to her and she felt sick again. "Will you please blow that junk somewhere else, it's making me feel nauseous." she barks at him. Something was definitely wrong here she never raised her voice to him like that before and truthfully she enjoyed the smell of his pipe smoke, it had a sweet scent that she enjoyed but something was giving her mood swings

Kolya ers and puts his pipe out, stowing it away. "sorry..." he says before thinking and slowly standing. "Hm...I want to get you to the infirmary...I have something i want to check..okay?" He asks, slowly going to lead her to the stairs

Starla sighs and put her face in her paw. "I'm Sorry Kol, I didn't meant to snap at you like that, I don't know what came over me. You didn't have to put your pipe out, You know i like the smell of the smoke but for some reason lately it's been effecting me wrong." she said watching her husband stand up. She was about to respond when a different mood struck her and she looks nervous "What? why do you want to take me to the Infirmary? There's something wrong with me isn't there." she said suddenly scared as she begins to cry. "Ohh, what's wrong with me? why do you need to take me to the infirmary?" she asked biting her claws in worry. As the tears begin to fall down her cheeks.

Kolya frowns at the fact she's crying. "No...No no no...Nothing is wrong..." he goes to put his arms around her. "No...There will never be anything wrong with you...Never. I promise" he smiles softly, giving her kiss a cheek. "Come on..Lets just have you checked out okay?" he smiles softly. "nothings wrong I'm sure of it"

Starla sniffs wiping her eyes after a few more seconds the mood passed and she clears her throat nodding at his reassuring words. "I'm sorry Kol it happened again, I don't know what’s wrong with me, I've been such an emotional wreck lately. So yes lets get me checked out. I want to know what's going on." she said and followed him as he started to lead her to the infirmary.

Kolya quietly leads his wife into the infirmary, setting her to a cot before a healer comes up to them. "Anything I can do?" The mouse healer asks. The stoat nods some. "Aye..She’s not really herself...I want you to check her out?" he asks. And then the Healer Mouse nods and slowly starts to check over Starla.

Starla luckily didn't have any more mood swings as her husband led her to the infirmary, in fact her mood swings were quite intermittent and didn't happen often but her nausea seemed to happen practically every morning. She gently sat on the cot and as she sat there she seemed to almost have a certain glow about her not a literal glow but she certainly looked radiant. She glances at the healer and didn't resist as the mouse began to look her over occasionally she unknowingly put her paws protectively over her belly completely unaware of it as she waits out her examination.

The mouse-maid hrms as the jill places her paws on her belly. The healer slowly goes to move her paws, gently feeling around her belly, while Kolya paces back and forth, and waiting. The healer knows what it is just after feeling around...twice in the past few days for her..."Well...I have Good news...and I have bad news...which do you want first?" She asks the both of them. "Bad!" Kolya almost shouts...

Starla blinked as the mouse moved her paws she didn't even realize she put them there. She looked nervously down as the mouse maid as she felt around her belly. When the healer finally spoke again the color flushed from Starla's face in concern, did she just say 'bad news'? The Jill swallowed nervously jumping as her mate suddenly barked 'Bad!' She glances back to the mouse and nods "Aye the bad first, I what to know what's wrong with Me." she said in a soft voice

Kolya sits next to his wife and slowly grips her paw, worried something was very wrong. "Well..." the mouse-maid starts. "If you live in your own home, you’re going to have to make a whole new room at some point..." The healer pauses. "Because your going to be parents" She smiles after having kept a strait face. "Congratulations..." she looks to Starla. "You’re pregnant..."

Starla gripped her husbands paw tightly the worry and tensions building up obvious in her grip. She paused blinking in confusion and it took her several seconds for it to sink in. Finally she gasped "I-I'm pregnant...You mean the nausea and the mood swings I've been having are due to..." she cut off as she glances at her husband and grins hugging him suddenly "Oh Kolya, did you hear that...We're going to be parents." she said hugging him tighter as tears of joy begins to fall from her eyes.

Kolya sort of just stares at the mouse for a moment waiting to see if this was a joke...the cameras can come out now...oh…right...they dont exist yet. "R-Really?" he gets a nod....the stoat wraps his arms around Starla and smiles widely. "Yes, yes I heard...This is wonderful" he goes to place a kiss on her lips after he pulled away from the hug.

Starla couldn't believe it was true, well yes she can, after all they did mate several times in rather close intervals. But it was still amazing to her. She cried her happiness into her hubby's shoulder her body shaking with excitement. She happily kissed him deeply when the broke apart from the hug and she turned to the mouse maid "Thank you so much for the news." she said happily hugging her mate once more.

The mouse-maid nods and smiles. "I'll leave you two alone now" she says before standing and heading off. Kolya still couldn't believe it. The stoat hugs her tightly and smiles. "I can't Believe it...I cant believe I'm going to be a father, and you a mother" he smiles. "This is the best..." he says, hugging her again. "I love you...so much”

Starla smiles and nods watching the healer leave as she returns to hugging her mate. She nods "I know, I've always wanted to be a mother. And now thanks to you I'm finally going to be one." she said hugging him and barraging him with kisses "Oh Kolya I love you too...I love you so much." she said kissing him deeply once more.

Kolya kisses her back and hugs her tightly. The stoat only ever dreamed of being a real father one day. Not one of those fake ones you hear about >.> "Love..." he says, kissing her once more. "Why not get some rest okay? We can Celebrate tomorrow" he smiles softly. "come on, lay down and I'll lay with you love"

Starla smiles, hugging him once more. She looks up at him when he spoke looking deep into his eye's "Yes my love?" she asks kissing him back as she listens to him finish what he was saying. She smiles wider and nods "Okay, I am a little tired after such exciting news." she said releasing her husband and lying down. "Goodnight Dad." she said with a grin and a yawn those words had a nice ring to them and she couldn’t wait for their future kit to speak those same words. She sighed relaxed on the cot and awaiting him to join her.

Kolya chuckles softly and lays down next to her, putting his arms around her softly, pulling her close. He gives her one more kiss and closes his eyes. "Good night Mum" He chuckles softly, pulling the blankets over them. After a few moments of picturing their family, he drifts off to sleep. he still, even in his sleep, could not believe him and his future wife, were going to have a child...

Starla smiles as her future husband joins her, gladly embracing him and returning the kiss. She yawns once more and sighs her eyes closing as she quickly drifts off to sleep. Her own mind drifting to what their future family will look like some day.
