Darkmane returns to work as well "its for other to admire usually, and not yourself" smiles wryly "where i came from we use it to show how great warriors and such we are, diffrent tattoos for diffrent deeds" cracks his neck slightly "the more tattoo's the more honor usually"

Rykos crawls up the stairs in his sleep close, his blanket wrapped around him as he looks around at the beasts in the room, looking up at the moment at the big horse before moving to sunrose, waving up at her happily.

Sunrose clicks her tongue,  "Jest seems to have popped away, would you mind getting a cord of wood and a tea from the kitchen - Darkmane?"

Sunrose grins,  "Hello Rykos!  Come help me fold."

Darkmane bows ever so gracefully and grins "ofcourse" twirls around and heads for the kitchen

Darkmane heads off towards the Abbey Kitchen..

Darkmane has left.

Sunrose says, "Well. I'm so glad we're more prepared this winter. I couldn't stand to see another lean dibbun's face."

Nicodemus says, "There's always blindfolds."

Turmal comes in out of the brisk air to see what this place is all about. He tries not to make a sound as he enters, almost hugging the wall nearest the door, wishing to warm himself but not to intrude...

Rykos pulls lightly on sunroses habit gently to "aid" in making his presence known.

Sunrose curls an arm around Rykos's back and scoops him up onto a knee as she sits in front of a fire.

Sunrose says, "It's getting onto your bedtime soon..! Nicodemus, how are you and your wife for the winter?"

Rykos nods and yawns, snuggling back into sunrose, waving to the squirrel he hasn't scene before in greeting.

Nicodemus says, "Oh, we're fine. There's no lack if you store all year. And if you have only four to feed."

Nicodemus mutters, "Even if one does refuse to help and eats lots."

Darkmane arrives from the Abbey Kitchen..

Darkmane has arrived.

Sunrose says, "Rykos, this is Nicodemus.  He's almost as old as these stones."

Nicodemus looks about. "And maybe older than some of the repaired ones."

A ping is heard, and Turmal realizes his dagger has fallen onto the floor. He bends to pick it up, his hat almost falling off, and looks up to see the horse enter. His eyes grow wide and he clears his throat to keep from coughing.

Darkmane returns back to the hall "lets see now, it was tea for the fireplace and wood for Nicodemus correct?"

Sunrose glances towards the ping, and tips her head.  "Hello there!"

Nicodemus says, "Yes. I love to snack on wood, just like a beaver. And I'm sure the fire will enjoy the tea."

Nicodemus scrunches hsi face and pushes his teeth out to look beaver-ish.

Sunrose giggles.

Rykos giggles as well, funny skiurl yesh.

Turmal clears his throat again, and enters the room in big, graceful strides, "Um, hello, there. I was, um, just passing along, and thought to come in for a quick bit, just a quick little look ‘round-a-bouts! The fire, seems a fire is always a sign of welcome with such pleasant beasts about..."

Nicodemus says, "And be sure to give it plenty of tea while you enjoy the wood."

Sunrose says, "I'm Sister Sunrose, this is Nicodemus the beaver-squirrel, Darkmane the wood fetcher and Rykos the very clean hamster dibbun."

Sunrose asks, "May we have your name?"

Rykos waves at Turmal as he is introduced.

Darkmane places the tea alongside Nico before dropping off a large load of wood alongside the fireplace "oooh, i've gotten and offical title here" grins at Sunrose "hope you don't mind me having brought an excess amount of wood so it trips will be saved later"

Turmal smiles a wide smile and joins the beasts, looking down at his dagger and sword and back to them, "I really don't know much about how to use these, no harm in bringing them with me? I could sure use a warm cup of that… tea, is it? Good stuff..."

Sunrose says,  "As long as they stay sheathed and are not brought out, you may have them."

Sunrose asks, "That's quite alright Darkmane, would you mind feeding it?  I've got a little lump on my knee."

Darkmane dips his head "no problem, and afterward i'll bring some more tea out here" looks around "wonder if i should just bring a pot o tea out here so i'd save on the walkin"

Sunrose says, "No, abbey rules - one cup at a time."

Turmal nods and chuckles, "These are... um, were my friends' affairs, he was a warrior y'know. He lived around these parts for a bit, came up by my way and... dreadful story for such a cozy little place, though..."

Sunrose tips her head.

Darkmane puts a few logs into the fireplace before offering sunrose an innocent smile "You know what they say, rules are made to be broken" starts for the kitchen again

Bianca arrives from the Staircase..

Bianca has arrived.

Sunrose says, "You know, if you go for tea, you've gotta go for those cookies I left out to cool."

Nicodemus says, "But the tea cups can be huge."

Rykos's ears perk up at the word cookies, heh, he maybe a super clean freak dibbun, but he is still a dibbun!

Turmal finds he is battling amidst the discussion of tea, and looks down. After a sigh of thoughtfulness, he smiles and looks avidly at the beasts talking, knowing that they must care nothing for tales of warriors and foebeasts.

Sunrose clicks her tongue at Nicodemus,  "I had a visitor give my two oldest ones a whole three candied chestnuts each right before they went to bed."

Nicodemus says, "Bet they slept REAL good while climbing the walls."

Rykos's ears a flick, candied chestnuts too!

Sunrose says, "I think Kevarr's little ones are rubbing off on them, they're starting to try and climb like dibbun martens."

Nicodemus says, "Most dibbuns think they can climb. Some can. Martens can very well indeed. Too well."

Jacqueline arrives from the Staircase..

Jacqueline has arrived.

Sunrose says, "I've had to pull Jarsune off every wooden mantle we have."

Sunrose tips her head at Turmal,  "How were your travels here?"

Turmal takes his hat off, setting the cap aside and wets a paw to try and fix his headfur in futility. "Um, did you say Kevarr, miss?"

Rykos giggles nearly silent as he knows what she is talking about.

Darkmane muses "want me to take the cookies into the hall, or just the kitchen?"

Sunrose says, "Yes, Miss Kevarr. Just bring em' on in here..!"

Darkmane snaps a finger "dang, no munching all of them in the kitchen and pretending i brought em in" heads into the kitchen

There is a look of understanding in his face, and Turmal nods again, "Yes, my travels were nothing short of miraculous, no troubles at all, but my friend, he was followed by a beast, and gave mention of a Kevarr that threw him out of the abbey... yes..."

Jacqueline walks down the stiars as quiet as she can, she pauses as she sees all the beast, looking around nervously, seeing the fire and daring to move towards it despite the gathering of beasts.

Nicodemus nods his head to the other squirrel.

Darkmane heads off towards the Abbey Kitchen..

Darkmane has left.

Sunrose oohs.

Jacqueline nods lightly back, and timidly says, "Bonjour."

Sunrose peers up at Jacqueline.  "Hello there!"

Turmal continues, "He was then joined by another squirrel, name of Kamu or Kami, yes.. Kami. And they travelled up north away from the abbey, to escape with their little one, away from this black fellow named... oh, I don't remember..."

Nicodemus says, "Bonjour. Ca va?"

Sunrose nods to Turmal,  "Sounds like quite a tale."

Darkmane arrives from the Abbey Kitchen..

Darkmane has arrived.

Darkmane whistles softly as he returns from the kitchen carrying a plate of cookies in one hand and a cup of tea in the other

Sunrose stifles a yawn behind her paw.

Turmal laughs, and shakes his head, "Oh, you haven't heard the half. Most of the stuff he told me before the end was way, waaaaay back. Tales of foxes kidnapping fathers and such..."

Sunrose pats Rykos head,  "Perhaps kidnapping tales shall wait until the littlest of us proceed to bed."

Jacqueline actually freezes, someone can understand her hear, she forgets her current feared state and responds, "Ca va Bein." Moving slightly faster and sitting at the tree.

Nicodemus smiles. "And that's about the extent of my knowledge."

Rykos covers his head with the blanket and gets closer to sunrose if possible.

Sunrose stifles another yawn.

Sunrose says, "Oh good gracious.."

Jacqueline thinks she gets the jist of that and her ears lower slightly, "..don't speak much...e..english."

Darkmane moves over to turmal offering him the tea before putting the cookies down on the table "there we go"

Sunrose says, "Aw, you don't need to speak common tongue to have a good time..!"

Sunrose says, "Thank you, Darkmane."

Nicodemus blinks and puts a paw over his mouth, envisioning all sorts of ways that Sunrose's likely innocent comment could be taken.

Nicodemus says, "Oui, je comprende un petit francais. Tres petit."

Turmal looks curiously at Darkmane... "Have I seen you before, sir? Horses, blasted things all look the same to me. Haha, sorry, no offense I hope." He continues, tilting his head to one side and adjusting his quiver.

Jacqueline doesn't understand, so she just sits there and tries to warm up for the time being.

Bianca stumbles down the steps, rubbing sleep from her eyes. She looks around at all the beasts...she sees none she knows and stops at the bottom of the steps.

Darkmane looks over at Turmal "depends, have you spent any time around ruingate, mapleleaf or the order of the sword dancers?

Sunrose hears the pit-pat of tiny paws, and peers over towards Bianca.  "Oh my, another dibbun pops up!  Come on over here."

Jacqueline pokes his head out at the mention of a dibbun, he waves from his place on sunroses lap.

Sunrose yawns again,  "If it wasn't for a bit of help from my Mum, I'd be unconcious everytime the sun goes down."

Sunrose asks, "Will you be staying the night, Nicodemus?"

Turmal looks down at himself, chuckling, "I suppose I don't look the same, without the glasses and the art materials always in hand... and this big lump of a sword... But I did come from Mapleleaf, and I believe that is where I saw you. I'm sure of it."

Darkmane says, "fairly likely, tho its been a fair while since i visited that town, i own a house up there"

Nicodemus says, "Nope, Sunrose. I know these woulds day or night, storm or peaceful. I will be nested with my family this evening."

Sunrose nods.

Turmal, intrigued, "Yes, same here, haven't been to in about a season... It's been all ahead southward from then till now... How was Matrim when you last saw him?"

Sunrose looks at Darkmane with wide eyes,  "You must be awful wealthy."

Nicodemus says, "Besides, it's the only way to keep Rish from coming seeking me and slaughtering beasts that happen to be between there and here."

Bianca slowly walks toward Sunrose. She's shy.

Sunrose gives a pat on the floor, encouraging Bianca.  "Hello there darlin'."

Rykos smiles a bit as Bianca moves a little close, he really can't say hi, which is a shame really.

Bianca moves closer to Sunrose, "He'o.."

Sunrose asks, "What's your name?"

Bianca says, "Bianca."

Sunrose ohs!  "Amethyst told me all about you.  I'm Sister Sunrose, it's very nice to meet you Bianca."

Darkmane furrows his brows slightly as if thinking "when last i saw them things were quite well i belive"

Nicodemus says, "I've never ventured that far. Though my wife has been out and about. More out than about, actually."

Bianca tilts her head, "Ame?" She looks around for her, "Whe'e?" frowning as she doesn't see her.

Sunrose remarks,  "I've been mostly here, I'd get lost ten yards away."

Sunrose grins.

Turmal nods and scoffs at his own rudeness, and offers his own name, "Sorry for the impolite withdrawal of my name, didn't mean to hold onto it and you just reminded me. Proper introductions now, I guess; Turmal is the name." He goes to shake paws and hooves with the horse, laying his sword down behind him. "Good to hear he was recovering from the incident..."

Sunrose says, "Amethyst isn't here right now, but she told me about you."

Sunrose glances towards the sword, in case any little paws reach for it.

Darkmane grins wryly and shakes his hand with Turmal "Darkmane, as was mentioned earlier, how have things been otherwise with you?"

Rykos waves again to bianca lightly, his only way of really comunicating except for probably conner, who seems to understand him even when he is just standing there

Nicodemus raises up, stretching as he does.

Nicodemus says, "I need to get back; it's a brisk path back to my drey. I bid you all a good evenign."

Sunrose nods,  "Take care, Nicodemus."

Bianca follows Sunrose's gaze and spots the sword, "Ooh!" She heads for it.

Nicodemus turns to the frech squirrel, "Au revoir!"

Sunrose sets Rykos down and hops up,  "Turmal, your sword!"

Nicodemus shakes his head. "Good thing it's sheathed. Merry part, everybeast."

Turmal takes the hoof and shakes it rather clumsily, stumbling back to his place, "Ahh, besides meeting strange squirrels with ransoms and bounty hunters, trying to bring him to the very foxes that destroyed his family, I haven't had many things to complain about, sir. I did have two loves that I left to get here, and I'm not entirely sure I'm through with my travels... I need to find the place where Moruwil, rest his soul, lived."

Jacqueline waves and smiles lightly to the other squirrel as he leaves. Rykos just sits there, even though he sees the sword, sunrose makes it clear that it isn't to be touched.

Nicodemus heads outside and into the Abbey Entry..

Nicodemus has left.

Darkmane dips his head slightly "don't think i can hepl you in regards to finding that place sadly enough"

Bianca makes a grab for the sword, wanting to examine it. duh.

Sunrose says, "Turmal, take up your sword please."

Turmal realizes he is sitting in front of the sword and turns around to shift its place to his side, when he sees the small mouse go for it. "Uh, uh, uh, young one. For elder beasts only..." He takes it and places it in its sheath, rather awkward in his sitting position. Oh well.

Sunrose rubs at her eyes.

Sunrose has left.

Bianca crosses her arms and pouts.

Turmal looks into the firelight, reminded of specific things his new and old friend had said, fragments that rush together in meaningless jumble, and says, half to himself but aloud, "Leaf that twirls to raised ground / Centerpoint for vengence bound... heh..."

Bianca stares at Turmal a moment, thinking him mad. She frowns a little then shrugs, bored and wanting to play, she pokes at him, giggling.

Turmal is ignorant of the poking for a bit, then snaps out of it and turns to her, "Haha, quit the poking, miss, or you'll have me in the infirmary before long! Haha, what are you up to? Restless as a mole with work to be done, eh?" He picks her up and sits her on his lap.

Bianca giggles and pokes him again for good measure, "A'p'ay! P'ay oo?"

Turmal laughs with all merriment, wagging a finger, "I'll 'pay' you nothing, you scoundrel! Huh, imagine that, a little dibbun like you wants money for poking me! Haha. I'll tell you what, how about I show you that sword, while nobody's around to tell us what to do, and tell you how I got it?"

Bianca giggles and shakes her head, "No pay! P'ay!" She looks interested as he mentions the sword, "A'see a'see!"

Turmal takes out the sword, looking both ways and behind him, and holds it in front of her, blade up but away from the little dibbun. "See this, here? My friend had this a while ago, was a wanderer from the east Mossflower area... Long time ago, his daddy was taken up to a bad place with a bad band of foxes... Somewhere up north, and his mommy was killed, sadly. So imagine this poor guy, mommy-less, travelling alone without a weapon in the world of badbeasts and villians... He took up trading and got into trouble with a bad mouse up along the very road outside this abbey..." He waits for her to comment on the blade before continuing.

Bianca stares at the blade, "Oooh."

Turmal smiles, and points to the one squirrel on the left side of the crosstree, "That's this fellow, here... He didn't have the sword at the time, and the mean mousey, named Martulok, beat him up really bad... Of course, the only reason he fought and didn't run was because he was convinced the mouse knew where the foxes took his father... So then he had to be taken to the Lucky Clover Tavern..."

Bianca tilts her head, not quite understanding everything, but enjoying it just the same.

Turmal spreads his paws wide, "Where he made thiiiis many friends, and was loved by a fair squirrellymaid named Darktail. No sooner had he recovered than a vixen, female fox mind you, came to the place... let's see.... Athena, by name? She almost captured Moruwil himself... but he escaped and came back to the tavern, only to find that Darktail and the others had left, probably to look for him." He points to the other squirrel, "Then he went to search for this beast, his father... He went west and west and west until he could go west no more... to find a cabin, which his family had supposedly lived in before having him and moving to the forest... Ferravale, and this cabin was huuuuuge! He had no idea his family had been soo rich!"

Bianca tilts her head the other way, only this time looking confused, "'Ad m'se?

Turmal shakes his head, "No, this was all in the adventures of my squirrel friend. The bad mousey was long gone by then..."

Turmal sighs, "Am I going too fast for ya, missy? I probably am... haha..."

Turmal finishes, "Well anyway, it was in this cabin that he found this beauty... and the rest can wait, I suppose. Wonderful blade, though, isn't it?"

Bianca nods, "Puh'dy!"

Turmal chuckles, "Very pretty, very... I don't suppose you can read much less deciper these inscriptions... they've boggled me since I had the ancient weapon..."
